It would be easy to have some of the inner rooms on the bigger buildings netted off as neutral areas with some water for the players. Plus as Jes said having a delayed insertion to your home base would allow the players and refs to help keep an eye on everyone. Add in some water coolers and disposable cups everyone should be good.

Yes, instant regen is a great thing if the weather is pleasant and you've got plenty of money to spend on paint. But with the temperatures being as they are, it is much smarter to have a delayed regen at each sides central hospital area. That way the producers, refs, EMT's and teamates can keep an eye on everyone around them and make sure everyone is drinking enough. As a producer, we have used a standard ten minutes open insertions before each half hour. That has always worked quite well.
Sorry for the repetition, but I was one hand typing before... damn McGriddles...

Knowing Billy, he will do the 3hr play 1 hr stand down, which worked well 2 weeks ago at Blanding, It kept us from having heat cases, mandatory stand down is an awesome idea

I hope not. Like they guys said that will kill the flow of the game.

grendel: yeah man that was awesome the way they had that at responder city. a couple buildings had a far back room netted and had a few rolls of paper towels, a trash can and a water cooler.
jester: good point on the regen vs a total stand down.
werewolf: excellent points on the laws totally agree.

Put an inexpensive analog atomic clock on each hospital/insertion point. Take a green marks-a-lot and tint the face of ten minutes after the hour and ten minutes after the half hour. Tint the two twenty minute periods with red marker. Goof proof clock & entry system that is synchronized perfectly.
If you get hit, the longest you're out is twenty minutes. Some guys run out at the top of the hour and go on short runs so they can haul butt back and tag up during the ten minute window. Definitely worth considering.
Plus, the staff can observe players coming in...

yeah i agree with all the hydration issues, cuz it is a serious concern. but dont stop play time. all of the girls already know how important it is, especially in 120 degree dry desert heat. plus we all are constantly surrounded with classes and posters for remedies for heat rash, heat stroke, dehydration, as well as over hydration. siege of stormwynds respawn times were great, i dont want some manadatory hour long break to be the deciding factor in this game, cuz as all of us know from the horde side, trying to work your way back into town every 4 hours would completely suck.

well Until you play there, you dont know how bad the heat gets. PLUS regardless of what we know about giving ourselves rest, people sometimes just push themselves too hard, and dont call themselves out to rest.
The mandatory stand downs last Blanding were a great way to #1 ensure everyone got off the field to hydrate, and #2 was good to "cool down" tempers of those who were getting their asses kicked. after the Hour, both sides started at the bases again, and when the horn sounded, everyone started fresh. it was a good oppertunity for the side who was behind to try to catch up in points.
It is better because if a side is getting smaked TOO hard, the chance of more people getting discouraged and not playing is greater, this way it gives a chance to regain ground, and break it up a bit
