Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest but its been a day of reflection.Yesterday i was ablte to sneak out to S/C and get a few games in, but not to many others showed up actually a grand total of 17 made it to walk ons ,so there i was in the mist freezing my butt off (hard to believe yeah its cold in So Cal ) i encountered a group of dedicated players who had driven down friday night from Sacramento just to ball at S/C.
There was 12 of them and i think out of the 12 11 were pumpers (3 being 12 - 13 yr olds) ,the first map Beruit i was able to ball with some of them and against them as they had split up,i was able to get 1 of them out as he peaked out a window but within seconds i was covered in banana flavoured paint (yeah these guys shoot flavoured paint how old school and cool is that ) 2nd go around on beruit and i picked off 2 before running out of air (yeah i know noob mistake always check your fill)..i was able to chat for a minute with a couple of these guys and they basically are a group of friends with their kids that just like to play and with the lack of great fields up north they come down here to So Cal .Keep in mind we are talking roughly 500 miles to come down here .
So later on that morning as the crowds showed up these guys were able to play as a unit on Bosnia( without a doubt the biggest field @ S.C)...I rolled with Team Sunji another pump team against the Sacramento guys and within seconds we were just amazed at 2 things that were taking place before our eyes
1. How noob the rest of the walk ons were in our group ,at 1 point we are talking 4 to a bunker and no body moving up when there was atleast 20 yards of free space
2.The sacramento guys were totally wiping the field ,myself and SunJi were the only ones that were even putting up a fight,i'm out there with my Geo laying paint down like a mad man and i turn around and see the rest of the walk ons long balling balls into orbit without a hope of hitting anything,
So guess what happens right as i move up to a bunker in front the Sunji guys i get nailed by a guy on my own team right on the side of the mask ...fricking friendly fire ....
So im sitting on the side lines watching the action shooting the sh17 with the sacramento guys explaining what happened on field and they were amazed at how our guys just laided back..so anyways we flip sides for the restart..

So again im running with Sunji i get to a sandbag installation that has neting over it, we turn around and yet again nood squad is just sitting back in the back longballing so i yell at them move up so a few of them join us ,so im getting ready to roll out of that area and im up and running when one of the noobs in the bunker pushes me out i dont know if what happens next is just an accident the guys hand pushes my flex off my face right as i push over a berm into a rain of fire ...i totally went into turtle mode on the dirty .let me tell you i heard a few balls zip right over me while im on the deck at that point im yelling mask off mask off lucky for me the assisant ref and a Sunji guy saw that the flex was about 15 feet away from me and i think it was the guy Scuba from Sunji that grabed it and ran over to me with it and blocked a few balls headed for me while i slipped on the flex...
Apart from feeling very luck i also felt a little pissed that no one stopped firing while obviously this was going down and im also puzzled as why someone would shove another player around the mask area . I know we have all pushed someone around the back or shoulder area to say Hey move up or Go ! but im just gonna put this down to a noob being a noob...
But anyway at that point in the morning i just wanted to call it a day ..So on my way off 1 of the Sacramento crew pulled me aside and told me he saw a little of it and that he tried to tell a few noobs to ceasefire so atleast someone was paying attention out there .
So right before heading home i went out to say how laters to the sacramento guys i got to talk to 1 of their guys (Patrick) ,The guy was totalyl cool and i was able to get some info on these guys in mossy oak shirts...
So i just wanna give a big thanks to these guys for showing skill and class out on the field
so Thanks and i cant wait to run into you guys again at S.C hopefully i will be on the same side as you guys
