you could just have a defective product. have you tried contacting the manufacturer and asking for an exchange? a good company will do it for free.

I pm'ed him.

I think there is a seal inside the piston that doesnt come w/ the rebuild kit. perhaps it works like a burst disk..?

Can you post a pic of the regulator? I haven't worked on them before, but at a fist guess, there's either an oring on the adjuster itself, or the reg seat is bad.

Thump i had the exact same problem. The solution:

Timmy (you know the one) opened it up. Declared that there was nothing wrong with it and told me to switch to nitrogen. He then put it back together and it worked great. To that I add, make sure its clean on the inside, and keep greezin' it up. It just might work eventually.

FOR what its worth...

Drew

theres no oring on the adjuster...but there is a reg seat that could be seated improperly..if you look carefully the reg seat will be wider at 1 end...make sure that the wide end is sitting in the base of the reg, it should kinda snap and hold into place. other than that theres not too much else about Genx regs.

I swapped out the oring on the piston, the reg seat (It snapped in pretty solid like an old mag=L7 reg and unireg) and the grenade spring prior to my top post. I was also able to try two pistons. One worked fine. One leaks - I assume through the small inlet in the top of the piston. This creates an air passage straight through to the the hole in the adjuster knob.

I assume there a seal inside the piston that doesnt come in a rebuild kit.

help..
