DYE Throttle

I was wondering. Has anyone else had trouble with any of the tanks they have bought from DYE? i have bought a 91ci 4500 psi tank and all i keep having are problems with it. i am now on my 4th pin valve and now i need a new gauge. i have only had the tank since march. so if anyone else has had any problems let me know. i now also have some other aor tanks but my dye bottle is the largest. i hope is just been some bad luck and no one else has had too many problems, i would hate to have to change the reg on it already too.

one of my teammates has a Dye tank, not sure the exact model. I know he kept having problems with debris. We thought it might have been the tank we were filling from spitting particles of rust into the fill nipple, but nobody else had a problem. I believe we had a game after that and he had the exact same problem; again nobody else did.

The Schraeder valves are easy enough to replace. They're like a tire valve. You can grab a few and keep them in your repair kit. The gauge is a different story. That could be just a bad gauge. Are you getting it filled at the same place all the time? Replace your gauge and try topping off at 4K instead of full tilt for a few fills. You might just be attracting trash/debris. If all else fails, get it back to Dye and they will set it right. I sent a customer's tank a short time back and they completely replaced the reg, no problem. Good luck...

one of my guys had a 70/45 DYE and he had problems with the guage, then the valve itself, then the entire reg. i have the same tank however, and have had no issues.

sounds like a luck of the draw with these tanks, you would think that DYE of all places would have totaly top notch quality control

As far as the valve goes, do you normally screw your on/off in all the way?
I usually turn until I hear the gas initially flow through the line, then give it another 3/4 turn.
Might be possible to crank it in too far and damage something.
