Gas is in a 20 oz co2 tank

OK, not sure if this is the right forum or not (Junkie feel free to move) but I thought that the tankers out there might have some info for me...

How much Gas is in a 20 oz co2 tank? Assume all normal variables, If I open a full tank how much gas will I get? I swear I once knew this but I can't remember. I figure Wiz or you know would have a chart handy to know how much their tanks can fire...

Thanks all!

Of course the weight in liquid ounces to cubic ft of gas is going to very greatly with temp:

As long as you have liquid in the tank and tank temp is close to ambient then you'll have the pressure curves as above. Not much real gas in a 20oz though.
A 20oz tank probably has about 180 scf at 15 psi.
As long as there is liquid in the tank, the pressure in a CO2 tank is determined ONLY by the temperature. At room temperature (70 degrees F) its about 853 psi. (You can check this and the pressure for other temperatures in the little table at the top left of the CO2 diagram.)

The pressure in a CO2 cartridge, as long as there's any liquid in it, can be calculated roughly from:

p = p0 * exp(T/T0)

where p is pressure in psi, T is temperature (Fahrenheit), and

p0 = 314.04 psi
T0 = 69.64 F

This works pretty well between 0 and 80 degrees F as long as your bottle is filled to 100% or less of its rated fill.

Thanks wiz, I stared at that chart on warpig for the longest trying to make sense of it, but the lack of sleep was just muddling me further...
