Remote Line Question

Hey all:

I recently bought a CMI Steel Remote Line and when I go to open the valve on the canister end, it bleeds out the screw of the valve crank. I had my friend show me his 32 Degrees coiled remote, and his does the same, yet when he goes to fire, his works, and mine doesn't.

Why does it bleed, and why does his get the gas to his marker and not mine?
