Tank Advice.

ive found a 92/4500 carbon crossfire tank on ebay. i asked the seller when it was due for a hydrotest and he says he doesnt know. whats the easiest way i can find out or ask him before i buy it? and how do you get a tank tested and about how expensive is it?

tell him tolook at the ****in date dude. it should have a BORN ON date as opposed to an EXPIRATION DATE... add 5 years to the born on and thats rehydro... pbnation has a pretty comprehensive thread about it. i'll link you when i get home from work.

Not necessarily a 5 year tank some are 3 year. There should be a place in Knoxville that tests and refills fire extinguishers. They usually hydro for about 20 bucks. Takes 2 days.

so as to where my aluminum tank has a stamp dating 06 and i add five to that... i would do the same but add 3 due to it being carbon wrapped? this guy is selling it for 95 bux with free shipping, but i have not paid for it yet.

i get about 600 rnds out of my 72/3000 pure energy and its heavy as hell. that thing is killing my back. i figured that i could get alot more out of the 92/4500 and cut back on some weight.

and how hard is it to replace a regulator on a tank? dude said he bent it a bit diving into a snake on the airball field. says it works great but its bent a little bit.

Personally I would keep looking. Bent can't be a good thing and $100 should be able to get that tank used no more than $125. A new reg is going to be $45-$150 depending on what you want.

By the time you get a reg and hydro test you will be close to the price of a new tank which you know is good.

situation resolved. the guy refuses to give me the sequence off the tank so i can see how bad off it is on hydrotesting. i refuse to buy someone elses junk. i did however get a pure energy 92/4500 for 90 bux that was just tested and is "like new". i hope that now i can spend more time on the field and less time at the fill station.
