If you stop firing for a moment your velocity on the next shot should be back up where it should be. You most likely have an earlier on/off valve and this can be easily upgraded/modified to improve shoot down. AGD has a nice trade in program where you can trade your old setup on a new one plus a little cash and this will get rid of any shoot down problem plus it includes the Lvl10 upgrade and the ability to RT in one package. But if this is out of your reach right now there are some things we can do to your gun to improve it without a lot of expense. I've been using Mags for a long time 10+years and from my experience once you get a mag running the way you like leave it alone do not tear it down replace parts...etc unless it is absolutely needed. When you are done using a mag whip it down and oil it, the only times I've had problems with my Mag is after I change parts/seals.
Does this mean that my addition of a remote and expansion chamber will not benefit the set-up? I had thought that it might though I have yet to give it a try. Maybe after work today I'll run some paint through it and see if it does or doesn't.

Your remote/expansion chamber will not directly effect shoot down but it does a good job of preventing liquid from getting to the Mag's Valve. Mags do not work on liquid CO2 so it is important to prevent any liquid CO2 getting to the regulator/valve. I've never had the greatest luck with running CO2 on the gun only in a remote setup like you are describing has worked for me. The only difference from your set up that I used on my daughter's gun was I used a Palmer Regulator inplace of an expansion chamber. I've always found that the remote set up has sufficient expansion then when coupled with a Palmer Reg I have a constant and consistant supply of gasous CO2 supplied to the Mag's reg and get pretty good results. If you get liquid CO2 to the mag's reg the best you can hope for is wildly varying velocity and snow coming out the barrel the worst is blowing every seal/o-ring you have in the gun.

If you want to use your gun on CO2 you can not do the trade-in upgrade I mentioned earlier the new setup is compressed air/N2 only. I long ago went to compressed air and I personally think it is the best air source for a MAG my maintenance needs decreased and shot to shot consistance greatly improved.
