Is it a bouncy ride?
I've never been in a helicopter that was "comfortable". Shithooks are noisier than most choppers. Generally speaking, the more main rotor blades a chopper has, the smoother and quieter it is.

All helicopters I've been on have a heavy vibration but I don't know if I'd call it a bounce. What I'd call a bounce usually results from turbulence.

Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away

Heliocopters are not bad in my experience (limited to navy transport whirley birds) pure hell is a C130, riding for several hours in web seating with several tons of equipment up against your knees and an apparent ex-fighter jockey flying. That is pure hell!

Cold weather training was cool. There is nothing better than building an igloo and living in it for two days. I would have to agree with the C-130, well LC-130 in my case, being a pain. I have spent as long as 9 hours on them headed south. My personal worst was several different 10 hour flights on C-141's with 140 of my closest friends in extreme cold weather (ECW) gear. Talk about sardines. They don't call it the tube of pain for nothing.
