As far as the youngins joining us with 98s etc. I'm all for it. Let's get them into a game where the talent and environment is best for them. Of course that would be with us pumpers.

You'll want to talk to Jimmy about that. I know Jimmy runs deals on field fee/air/paint on Sundays for team practices but in the past its always been ramping gun/tournament teams specifically.
I'm pretty sure he'd do it but definitely get clearance before you advertise special fees/prices. I'd hate for people to show up thinking one thing and having something else happen. |

I'm all for the tippmann users... but they should be limited to stock 98 customs... they can have an aftermarket hopper and barrel, but stick with no speed upgrades. HPA would obviously be allowed to them.. and why set an age limit? I say just let anyone who wants to play with a true mechanical semi play with it. They might not own a pump so i say let them go. Besides, if your mechanics with a pump are down, you should easily be able to out snap the semi players.

When playing with mixed groups of young kids & novice players, veteran ballers should be extra courteous to the younger players - such that they have a good time, tell their friends, and want to return etc. Pump play generally mixed well with novice groups - a few reasons for this include : Pumps are much less intimidating than high rate of fire gear - especially to some kid with a rental 98. In general, the pump ballers are experienced enough help the younger ballers - provide them some encouragement, guidance, etc. Then the vet ballers go hunt each other and let the kids fight it out between theirselves. When playing mixed groups of veteran semis vs veteran pumps, one great equalizer is to play hopper ball. i.e., no pods on the field. This teachs a bit of fire discipline to the semi ballers. When playing with mixed groups of younger pump ballers and veteran pump ballers - Ive been known to go stick feed, to help make things personally a bit more challenging.

^^i could care less who im playing against...i just wanna play!
IMO we shouldnt try to over complicate things and makeing special age limits, rules and exceptions to those rules. pump day should just be that...PUMP day. this is all IMO tho. like i said ill shoot against any1. as for special treatment of youngins..i understand where youre coming from w/ not bunkering little kids and what not but the part of me that always got my ass kicked by the more experienced players when i was new tells me that its all part of the game. ull never learn to play well if you dont practice and take ur beatings and learn from them. i dont have a problem not bunkering a 10 yr old kid but when im asked to let him shoot at me and me not return the same curtosy thats when i feel he would be better off playing on a different field. if its tips and trick you wanna teach them then run around w/ them amongst their friends perhaps w/ no gun even and show him how to move and when to move and what to do when he gets to a certain bunker and what not. in closing IMO...if your intention is to help the young ones out and make them better. letting them play agaisnt very experienced pump ballers w/ a tippman isnt goin to do that. the only way to beat us is at our own game.. |
