Del breaks the ice..

Del has been running TT's field since Feburary or so, and he picked up some scenario reffing experience at Super 61 and Cartoon wars - but friday night when ben pulled me off "head reff" so I could run props and take pics and place Del in charge of the reffing - I thought "this might me a bit much" given the extreame complexity of Ben's games. Fortunately with our veteran reffing staff roaming around I guess Del couldnt get in too much trouble. Anyway Del jumped in feet first, manning a backpack with the refs play book and what I saw, he did a great job.

Lesson Learned : Normally when we plan our staffing for a scenario, we put our most experienced refs at the bases, zone the junior refs across the field for paint checks and safety, and try to have a mission ref or two be where the missions are - and this works - but not at Ben's games - And it took a little while to figure this out. At Ben's games you MUST take your most experienced refs and zone them in the hot spots cause everyone is a mission ref cause he's got mission going on like crazy (at least 4 at a time) - and you put your junior refs at the bases. Anyway, the whole reffing staff thanks the players for being understanding as we made the adjustments. Once we cut the field down some, and Grendel came out of his perch on the hill, things went silky smooth.

Ben - next time, we will be ready! - I know how to work your game - and you did a great job adjusting the playbook at dinner stand down.

Mike (Aerion) - next time, you are in the field bubba. Good work at the American base, but we needed you mobile. Next time, we will give you a big zone.

Grendel - excellent work - you are a true professional.

Del - well done. Next time, we will be ready for Ben, but you did a great job adjusting to what needed to be done.

Jeff (Protocol) - Thanks for your help bro. I know it was a bit boring out there, and I appreciate your sticking with it. Next time you are mobile.

Drewcif/Eric/Mylan/Justin/Benj/John-John : good work guys.

Thumbs down the ref's

as if i have not gone on enough, i think we all need to give another round of applause to the refs. they adjusted their tactics to suit the event as needed. i would start listing them by name but to make sure i forget no-one, they all deserve it. from the vet refs to the new ones. they tracted back and forth on this rather large field to make sur ethat we had refs there for the entire event.

:icon16: i have to give a personal special thanks to grendal who gotr himself shot up at least once or twice while running with me. i think spydermans men liked shooting at me especially..

thanks again to all refs

sarge

Thanks From Ben

Just Wanted To Say Thank You To Rob At Triggertyme (what An Awesome Field!), To Dale And His Staff - The Refs Are Always The Unsung Heroes Of Any Game, But I Most Want To Thank All The Players Who Played Their Hearts Out And Made This A Great Weekend For Bonnie And I.

It's Not Always The Numbers - It's The Heart That Counts And You Showed That Each And Every One Of You Had Big Hearts And A Lot Of Courage. I Was Proud To Produce A Scenario For You.

Special Thanks To My Friends, An Awesome Team, That Always Put The Good Of The Game Before Themselves, Who Always Step Up To Lend A Hand: Splinter Cell. You Are The Prototype Team For The Scenario Brotherhood's Code Of Ethics.

Thank You All - See You On The Field!
Ben & Bonnie
