--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey all, after consideration of the details behind the Kursk game in bear claw TN, I am going to pull my plans for attending this event unless better comps are given to the tankers. They offer free registration for 2 people and that is it. I have a crew of 3, so this means that I have to pay for registration for 1 of my guys, plus paint which will be 60-70 for a case I would expect. This is complied with the fact that gas for me to get my tank all the Way to TN would be enormous especially since gas prices will rise quite a bit between now and november.

I hope that they change their minds on this situation because I would like to go, but the costs of this are too much. It almost makes me wish I had a pug to take to far off events but those aren't allowed at this game either so oh well.

I've been to 4 of Ben's games with my tank and never been comp'd. Never asked for it.

The music stops, a chair has been removed, one player exited.

... and the music begins anew.

yes, and I post I made toady in response.

To hell with political correctness!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is good that people choose to live within their means, I mean it would be nice if they gave us free admission, free paint, hell how about free gas since we spent all of our time to build these machines that are really neat but not required to have to actually play paintball...
It will cost me around $200 to go to this event just for gas, and that is at current prices based at 12 mpg, blah,blah,blah... If I choose that an event is too far away and I can not afford to attend it I believe I would say that I could not afford it and not that since the event field is not comping me enough that then it is just not worth my time.
Speaking as a field owner, I understand why they "only" give you 2 free admissions which is equal to $100. It is too bad you will not attend, please don't make it seem as thought the field is to blame though.

thats a good way to put brain. Tanks are fun in paintball. But they dont make it that much better. Personally i wouldnt go out of my way to find a game with a lot of tanks.

What's funny is I never knew this "comp" thing existed. I think it's nice for a promoter/field owner to recognize these efforts but I agree... If you can't afford to shoot a semi, shoot a pump. If you can't afford to travel with your tank, then leave the tank at home.

feel the love..

Im chuckling - believe me.

I'de say the 2 man comp is excessive in the long run, but I can see it as Kursk & bearclaw are working on establishing themselves as the leader in paintball tank warfare. Sometimes it pays to ante up.

ps: why would a guy spend $3K-$8K on a tank and then bitch about the $50 entry cost to use it in the south east's biggest tank game?
