Okay here I go. I've been wanting to gather togather and share technical paintball information and personal opinions for quite awhile. Most of this information is going to be "HOW I DO IT" or "MY WAY" or IMO. If you do not like what I say or want to commment, you can go ahead and submit a comment and if I like your way or what you say, I'll post it, if not I trash it.
More to follow soon.
P.S. I'll not trash opinions that do not agree with me only those that are flaming, make no sense or not topic related.

What makes a paintball gun accurate? Or why is your gun more accurate than mine?
First my paintball gun [yes, gun not marker if I wanted a “marker” I’d pull a Sharpie out of my pocket] is just a tool it has no innate ability to make accurate shots. It does, “what I tell it to do”. My gun is more accurate than yours because I know my gun and what it can and can not do and then I AIM it. No spray and pray for me, I’m not rich and I take pride in making my shots count.
Are there things inherent to the gun that improves or worsens accuracy? Yes, and I’m going to try and cover some of these things.
1. Know your gun. Every gun and gun type has idiosyncrasies learn what they are for your gun. [e.g. I have a Sniper that will leak after DRY firing but if it actually has a ball to shoot loaded it will not leak. Why? I do not know but it works that way religiously.] Again know your gun.
2. Practice with your gun. Muscle memory requires a lot of repetition to sink into you subconscious. “Practice Makes Perfect”.
3. Maintain your gun. How can you expect your gun to do what you want when you need it to when it is filthy, not correctly lubricated…..etc.
4. Velocity consistency. You need your gun to shoot having a consistent shot to shot velocity. With out that your effective range and overall ballistics change every time you shoot. There are several things that affect consistency to be covered.
5. Barrel to Paint match. Invest in a good barrel kit. Paint varies in size from tiny to huge. Without a good match between the two you will have varying degrees of friction and air gaps between the ball and the barrel. Again shot to shot consistency is affect by this.
6. Good Air Source. Whether you use CO2 or HPA good clean regulated air source is very important. If you have CO2 or a Fixed regulator HPA system you will most likely need a good reliable regulator. With this you can set the input pressure to a CONSISTANT level therefore helping shot to shot consistency. I like PPS Stabilizer, AKA Sidewinder, ANS GenX II and CP regulators. There are other good ones out there too.
7. Good round un-dimpled paintballs. Just like anything traveling ballistic the more uniform the shape the more stable it will fly. There is an old school secret for ensuring you have good paint for use, but if I told you here some of my teammates would string me up. So come by and visit our staging area and you might see us perform our magic
8. PRACTICE
9. AIM
10. If I did not get it across earlier – Practice & Aim
Well enough for now. I’ll go into details later.

I agree with the "know your gun" and "practice and aim" comments. Even at the chrono, use those shots to see what the paint is flying like at the measured velocities. I have had to adjust to the barrel technologies, and I am slowly adding different combinations to my game.
