Okay here I go. I've been wanting to gather togather and share technical paintball information and personal opinions for quite awhile. Most of this information is going to be "HOW I DO IT" or "MY WAY" or IMO. If you do not like what I say or want to commment, you can go ahead and submit a comment and if I like your way or what you say, I'll post it, if not I trash it.
More to follow soon.
P.S. I'll not trash opinions that do not agree with me only those that are flaming, make no sense or not topic related.

Maintaining your gun didn't help you this time.......
Some un-named individual [cough]Rich[cough] has mocked my statement on maintaining your gun in the following picture. I'll leave it to your own investigation to determine the identity of the malcontent [cough]Junkie[cough] who is attempting to besmirch my reputation.

The following is what I said about maintaining your gun in one of my previous Blog entries:
Well I guess the cretin [cough]Rich[cough] has forced me to expound on my statement on maintenance.
I believe maintaining your gun/guns is important to having a reliable gun that preforms when you need it. The reference to maintanence really does not go with the picture. In this case I was not maintaining the gun I was trying to clear a "rubbery egg" that got stuck in the breach and was resisting my efforts to cut it with the bolt. But that is not germaine to the topic.
In maintaining your gun I am not talking about tearing your gun down after every outing/use. Most the time a simple inspection and wipe down is all that is needed.
I think the most important aspect of maintaining you gun is the general wipe down that gives you to opportunity to thoroughly inspect you gun for problems in addition to keeping it clean. I've seen players who do not clean there guns pull them out of their bag and try to use them but they are all clogged and locked up with crusty paint residue. How do you expect you gun to work when you need it when left in such poor condition. I tear down my marker only far enough to clean up any paint residue and dirt and grime that collects. Most of the time all I have to do is wipe down the outside surface and maybe swabbing out the breach after the barrel is removed.
Next is correctly lubricating your gun. It can be just as bad to over lubricate as under lubricate. Use the correct lube be it air tool oil or some of the fancy greases. Find out what is recommended for your gun and use it regularly but sparingly. Excess lube can collect dirt and grime that can damage or interfer with your guns operation. Most paintball guns utilize air tool oil that can be purchased at any place air tools are sold like Lowes or Home Depot. Read your manual or look up the manufacturer's FAQ files to find out what you need.
DO NOT USE WD40! WD40 was not designed as a lubricant it stands for Water Displacement forumula 40. It was designed to displace water off metal parts. The formula has chemicals in it that softens or eats up many of the seals in a paintgun.
I replace o-rings and seals only as necessary. If it is not broken you are best leaving it alone. That being said I keep spares with my equipment at all times so I can quickly fix any problem without annoying my friends and teammates.

LOL.. I knew it was a bad ball but I had to give you some grief. Now, over some damn fine dining (if I may add) and some cold refreshments, I basically told you in a nut shell all I do is wipe my markers down and keep them clean and I never maintenance them until the FPS indicates I should do something about it. As long as I'm shooting a respectable consistent 275 - 285 FPS I don't touch them.
Now I have annoyed you in the past for a tool or two when I came to a game light handed.. ![]() |

All I have to say is the un-named individual better not need any maintenance material/tools anytime in the near future
Also, do not forget some people like to eat and they can be cut off very easily By the way how did you post to MY Blog without me getting the chance to moderate your comment ? Sounds like an evil powermongering ADMIN strikes again |
