and whoever posted a pic of kerry von erich is obviously posting in the "overrated wrestlers of all time".... man he was big in texas and that was it... most notably known for having all his brothers dying/committing suicide.

I posted the pic of KVE, and I stand by it. He and his brothers, and his father were the first real family of wrestlers to make it to the big time. How sad that the "Von Erich curse" took them all out. In my opinion, the great wrestlers are the ones that I remember most fondly. Even if they were a heel, and I hated them, they were still great. I remember a wrestler that went by the name of the mighty Igor. His real name was Dick Garza. He only wrestled for about 3 years, from '67 to '70, when he died of a heart attack, but when he was on tv, you can bet that I would be watching.

i just always thought the von erichs were never very "popular" (only word i could come up with) because in the 80's they werent on tv for everyone to see. unlike the ricky steamboat's, ric flair's, bob backlund (remember him),etc. they stayed in the midwest area and didnt get too much face time. and forget trying to see them at charleston county hall.
that was just my opinion. |
