Fred Thompson pulled put of the race today leaving us with a 5 on 5 battle of Democrats v. Republicans...

Candidates for the Democratic Party:

Hillary Clinton, U.S. Senator from New York and former First Lady (Campaign Article, Campaign Site)

Barack Obama, U.S. Senator from Illinois, and former Illinois State Senator (Campaign Article, Campaign Site)

John Edwards, former U.S. Senator from North Carolina and 2004 Democratic Vice Presidential candidate (Campaign Article, Campaign Site)

Mike Gravel, former U.S. Senator from Alaska and Speaker of the Alaska House of Representatives (Campaign Article, Campaign Site)

Dennis Kucinich, U.S. Representative from Ohio (Campaign Article, Campaign Site)

AND IN THE RIGHT WING CORNER:

Candidates for the Republican Party:

Rudy Giuliani, former Mayor of New York City (Campaign Article, Campaign Site)

Mike Huckabee, former Governor of Arkansas (Campaign Article, Campaign Site)

John McCain, U.S. Senator from Arizona (Campaign Article, Campaign Site)

Ron Paul, U.S. Representative from Texas and 1988 Libertarian Presidential nominee (Campaign Article, Campaign Site)

Mitt Romney, former Governor of Massachusetts (Campaign Article, Campaign Site)

Just thought it would be good to make a general election thread... and now let the disputing begin... [p.s. in 2012(next election) i think it should be a battle to the death and whoever wins runs for president in their party](instead of primaries)

Granted I'm not an old fart yet and only been tracking politics since the late 80s...BUT...

Has there ever been a presidential race where the people were so completely undecided about who their representative was going to be in the upcoming presidential election...in both parties in the same year?

Hell as a nation we're so divided that we can't even choose who we want to have the shot...let alone lead.

should let'em all run (do I hear cage match?), screw the primaries
only two choices? in a good year three? but always voting for the least incorrect answer? F that...we need about 3 to 5 definite choices ...you know like the rest of the democratic countries in the world continue to do? Maybe then voter turnout would actually show that we give a damn who's screwing up our country

The crossed fingers, depending on the service, is a sign of “coercion”… This pic was floated around the net a few years ago, when slick Willy was in office. You won’t find a whole lot of soldiers who want to spend time with her. I don’t think this guy had a choice.
