Ok Next Gun HELP

Alright...having played paintball for years and stopping for a few years has defenitely put me a little behind on technology! (i am doing my own re-search but always want peoples hands on feedback and opinions so>>) I currently have an a-5 we wont got into what I think so far...currently I am dealing with some issues. I really want to step it up a bit with a different kind of marker...... because of other responsibilities I wont be spending a fortune I would like to hit the midrange guns......pmr, ion epiphany , mini , ya know what im talking about (for all you shocker and angel owners i am trying to convince myself that i should spend more but it will take some actual ppl that have them to prove to me that its going to completely out do the pmr or other mid range guns ) I have been shopping for an epiphany (i like the sounds of it...theres good feed on the ions and they say the epip is a cut above...) but after research the pmr sure does sound appealing also....then you hear of these mini junkies that swear on the innovative beauty of a well built marker.......so with a limited budget but the appetite for an expensive gun what should I be looking at!!!!!!!

Ion! ok...what is your style of play? Do you like pump, semi, electro, are you a scenario, rec-ball, or speed ball player? Do you have a nitro tank, if so do you play at a place that has HPA? If you are in the woods a lot then yeah sure Tippmann, if you like one shot one kill, slow and smooth, then Sniper 1 or Sniper 2 might be good. I like my Sniper 1, but in a thick wooded area, I might use my ION to get threw the trees. I really do like the ION, cheep, and good. However I do find my self shooting a few extra rounds than need be out of it from time to time.

well I have an a-5 so Im good for the woods technically BUT, when i was at TT this weekend I would say the feild was split between a-5 tipps and suped up elctros......I know it all comes down to the set up and all but I felt like the pressure was coming alot more from the ion and shockers angels cockers ect........I like to play in the woods...i also like speedball......And I will be attending some large scenarios in the near future...so I cant really put myself in ONE category.....and I cant Own Only One gun....I WILL PURCHASE a hpa system with the next gun regardless so this is not an issue......I just felt like i could do some damage out there with an electro....i dont know this is why i am asking..........whatever I put in my hands I will make work....thats just a part of the game and being fast and thinking quick......but sometime a quicker more efficient gun can def boost the advantage

If you like to play scenario & speedball Ions are good for what they are but for the epiphany is just an ion with a stock aluminum body it is heavier but has the same internals & firmware. Plus you will have to upgrade the barrel & put a clamping feedneck on either one of those. PMR's are good as well but you will need to replace the composite backcap with a metal one from CP right from the start unless you want to have problems as they are prone to leak from the backcap but that only costs about $10. Mini's are ok they are very light & very compact...If you have fairly large hands you won't be happy with it...My suggestion is to pick up a used highend marker for around the same money. You will get twice the marker with usually alot of ups already installed. You can pick up angels used pretty cheap, DM's & shockers too. DM4/5's are going from $250 to $500 most already have aftermarket boards in them. Shockers you can pick up all day long used for $300 to $450, angels G7's, Speeds, Intimidators all around $400 to $550 depending. Just let me know I can probably hook you up with something reasonable...

Hey I was thinking, there is one thing I would like to add to this. This is just soemthing that every one could take to heart. It really doesn't matter what marker you use. If you play with it long enough, you will end up being good with it. People seem to buy the newist thing out there. They don't stick with one marker. They get the new $1000 marker, play with it 4 times, and get shot out every time. They relize they are getting shot out by some guy with a $1200 marker, so that marker must be better. Wrong, most likely the case there is...the guy with the 1200 marker has only used that gun for the last 4 years or what ever. Allso people think that if they add a new bolt, a new barrel, a new eye, a new pump system, and (insert any mod here) that they will have an advantige. However when you add these things you have a whole new gun you have to get use to. Just find something you like, and stick with it. I play with a stock class Ion (I have a drop forward on it). When I fell I'm waisting paint, and a need to work on my skills I might play with my Sniper 1 or my Phantom, once I get back into my zen flow, I'll start playing with my Ion after I "target shoot it a few weekends". If you've ever played with me, you know I like to use my own gear no matter what I'm allowed to barrow (like Sahara Junkie's WGP). Heck id rather not even play if it's not my own, and I'm not use to it.

Amen, I just purchased a new marker but only after I had used the same marker for last 3.5 yrs. It went down on me and I didn't have a backup. So I researched what I was looking for in a marker from a reputable manufacturer. By the way I'm still keeping the original so that I will have a second marker that I can trust. Just in case! I also keep a pump in the closet that I break out when I feel I have become too dependant on firepower.

stay away from the ion. you need a bunch of upgrades to make them worth shit. the epiphany is an ion with all of the upgrades stock. but it has a terrible trigger and is so damn heavy.

the mini is way too small for me. it's just tiny.

the pmr is the way to go. a few friends of mine have them and they seem to like them.
