Point blank to the head!
I felt so bad after it happened... Was playing at classic yesterday, holding down the church in the city field. Firing on some resistance diagonally out of the door... A guy comes running in, just as I started to open fire.. He took a shot right in the top of the head, from about 6 inches away. I cant even imagine how much that must have hurt. I'm just glad it was a full grown man, and not some young kid. I kept apologizing to him. He was obviously a newbie (older gentleman, wearing sweat's) and glad it didnt phase him too bad.. Though he did sit down for a while in the church, we laughed about it later that day.
Just thought I'd share my little intervention. It could have quickly escalated to a confrontation, fortunately he understood it was an accident. ![]() |

Ouch...
Oooohhh, ouch!
At least it wasn't intentional. I took 3 to the back of the head at Blanding (night game), but I probably deserved it... ![]()

Nah, he was fine afterwards. Just shaken a bit. better it was the top of his head I think, rather than the neck, or other bare skin area.Good thing he was keeping his head down, he was like 6'2" or so, and I'm only like 5'7" That would put my barrel right about neck height if was standing straight up.
Weather was AWESOME for paintball this weekend. classic was filled with newbies, but we still had fun. Though a few of the younger kids kept pulling their masks up to wipe paint off. I had to yell at a few of them. I wasnt as harsh as a couple of the other people who saw it, one guy was like.. "DONT TAKE YOUR DAMN MASK OFF, YOU WANNA DIE?!?!" I can understand the concern of them keeping their mask on, but I wouldnt bring death the thought of death into their mind. LOL |

i knoe what you mean, i try to teach new refs to enforce with out agression. alot of them want to be loud and rude to paying customs, and who wants to pay to have some kid be squeaking at them? all you have to do is be loud and firmly enforce what the head ref/owner wants.

Kudos to you for realizing the danger and stepping up to apologize. I'm sure that had everything with his attitude. Bravo!

check this out. this is my head after homecoming CFOA. i bunkered the last guy. at the EXACT moment im coming around the bunker to shoot him, he popped out to shoot at the tape. (not knowing i was there). i was probably less than 6inches from him. i shot him in the belly and this is what i got in return.
ripped my sandana. had blood rolling down the side of my head. you can see the swelling in the pic, and the pic was taken about 1-2hrs after the incident. |
