Anyone wishing to donate directly to the "Wheels" fund may do so by using Pay Pal and sending to mark1413@comcast.net . Thanks, ALL, for the generosity you've shown. There should be a lot of fun, games and prizes at upcoming MPP games at Wildfire, in Charleston and at Bear Claw, all to help Mark defray his medical costs.

The new RECON magazine should be out any day now. My feature, (with Rich's photos) on last year's MPP "Iwo Jima" game at Bear Claw should be in it. The sidebar to the article is all about Wheels and the efforts to help him by the scenario paintball community. Grab it if you can. The editor of RECON, Dawn Allcot, has been very cool in helping us with this effort. We need to scratch the back of those that help our cause. THANKS!

if anybody is interested, i still have nothing to raffle at Stormwynd... all i have is a donation jar. if anybody who had multiple donated items wants to try and donate to us 1 or 2 of your donated items, then we can also maximize the money gained. IMO running raffles (more likely to make money than simple donations alone,) at multiple events on the same weekend will only increase the $$ we are able to send to Wheels.

FOR THOSE OF YOU HERE WHO ARE ALSO MEMBERS OF PBN...

Some of you may know already that PBN removed the Wheels Charity thread from the forums, citing a violation of a legitimate rule they have. The rule basically says that they don't allow charity posts because they have no idea of the legitimacy of the destination, (or source).

I wrote the Mod and asked for an appeal.

Quote:
Hi,

I just wanted to confirm that you deleted the "Wheels" thread form the forum. I understand if you had to, as I just read the FAQ on donation stuff.
I would like to add, though, that the Pay Pal address that is given as the donation point is Mark's own e-mail address. This entire "campaign" is being conducted by his brother, Mike "Castro" Anderson, and a group of experienced players close to them both, including myself.

I've been a member of PbN for almost eight years now and have never been any trouble. I'm a writer for PB2X, RECON & PSM and a moderator on PB Junkie. The current issue of RECON will have my initial post info as a sidebar to my feature on MPP's Iwo Jima game.

Agian, I understand if you cannot make an exception. But I had to give it a shot. I'd even be willing to alter my post to place a disclaimer stating the only valid donation points.

Thanks.

In the meantime, Kerry "Viper" Rosenberry, who had just donated an incredible registration package to the Wheels fund, composed a message and posted a like appeal to the PBN Mods. There is also a poll asking if you agree with the rule or a revised policy that seems to make much better sense.

Here is the PBN thread URL Charity posts: Here are my opinions…what are yours? - PbNation

Please check out the thread and cast your vote accordingly. While it is not any guarantee, we need all the help we can get. And a thanks to Kerry wouldn't be too shabby, either!

Thanks!

Jes

Personally I've known Mike/Castro and Wheels/Mark for 6, 7 years come fall. Even though it contributed to a pretty "interesting" teenage upbringing, I have to say that my best memories are from games that i attended because of these two people that have served as mentors for me whether they know it or not. I can't imagine a better cause than to help out this family that has given a lot to paintball and the people that love this sport.

I'd be happy to take a spot in the dunk tank or whatever else is needed to raise funds.

The more weight on the seat makes it easier to trip.
