Way to go Dad!

Nothing like airing some dirty laundry to get the proper attention to fix a problem! I love it!

as a taxpayer, i am uphauled. regardless of political standpoint, no soldier should have to come home from serving thier country in a time of war, to such horrid conditions. they should be treated with honor and respect. do you guys remember the stink that was made about dilapidated va hospitals? this is going on all over the country. i think its time the government start focusing thier attention on situations at home.

if the government wants to start up the war machine, they should be prepared to keep it maintaned in the spotlight of the public eye. its time for us to quit knocking on our neighbors door and clean up our own backyard.

as a former soldier I can not believe this is going on and I am very upset that our commanders are allowing this to go on.

I was stationed at FT Bragg from 1996 to 2004 , went on 4 different deployments , to include Afghanistan and Iraq, and sorry to say it , but what you saw on the video and the pictures is just a teaser when compared to the real living conditions, yes it is true also that they just build new barracks , but they where given to those that DID NOT deployed, so as a former 82nd boy, I ask you to please voice your opinion and that maybe that way they living conditions would improved.

I'm sicken by the whole thing. I want to see some brass cleaning up the mess they have made, not the soldiers putting their necks out to complete their orders. None of our brothers and sisters in arms should come back to that while the ones giving them orders are living on easy street. Our politicians are blowing billions without accountability and they can't provide a decent place for the soldier risking their lives to fight their war. I'm going to be making some phone calls tomorrow.

Heard about that the other day. My mom was telling me about it. It is truely ashamed.

Horrible conditions.

Watch that video, the link is in the article.
The metal can I floated on was in way better condition than what these guys have to come back to. A demolition project needs to be set up, and all the soldiers put up in good barracks or out int town while their new living quarters are built.

Well if you watched the national news tonight (4-30-08), you saw that dad's youtube video make national news. Amazingly, there were people taking responsibility for those horrible conditons on the news...in a "we could have done more" way.

Apalled is an understatement. I spent my time in the sand (USN/USMC) and came back to perfectly spotless BEQ, as it should be.
Of course the Army "widened its probe", it's a PR nightmare during an election year.

Mrs. Dole got a fire lit under some brass ass and had some subordinates own up to it.
Will anything really be done? Let's hope so. Someone definately needs a "wider probe."

Nothing peeves me more than to have someone proudly serve and then have them come home to live in conditions worse than a Gitmo inmate.
Dont even get me started...Junkie doesn't own enough bandwidth !!

Write a letter, make a call. Make it to the point and professional.
