X-ball is whats supposed to be televised and that would be cool at the x-games
and its rumor'd to go to the summer olmypic for the next one (4 yrs from now) you are so right about showing paintball on tv more than once a year. they still play World Cup '02 on OLN they need to air some of the new stuff |

Do not get me wrong paintball needs all the publicity it can get but I've never seen a televised paintball game that was worth the time watching. ESPN does a crappy job of putting paintball on TV. Maybe if someone could figure out the production for televising X-Ball it might help but in general I avoid televised paintball. Everyone I know who does not play paintball but has tried to watch the world cup get confused on what is going on and this might just turn off potential new players.

The whole purpose of Xball was to get paintball on TV and make it easy you understand for someone outside of the sport. Dick Clark bought Xball TV rites and then got sick and sold it to Disney.
PSP and NPPL are both fighting to get on TV first and bring people outside of the sport to come watch. When you get more people paying to come watch then the prices of attending events will come down. In Europe they have there stands packed with people who come to watch. Sadly here people just dont seem interested. NPPL's Denver events finals will be going on right next to Warped Tour. They did this hoping that people from warped tour will come over and watch. From there hopefully more people will take note of the sport. But untill it becomes mainstream like Skating, Snowboarding and Surfing there it no chance of making it into the X games. |

Oh, I love to watch a tourney and I'm sure I'd watch X-ball, in the stands the problem is it just does not come across on TV the actions so fast you need to see the whole field at the same time but the action is so tight and the shots hard to see it just does not seem to translate to TV well.
