ANS Grip Frame
Guys, I just got a new ANS Quickfire Gripframe. It comes with the gripframe, a timing rod & sheath, and two 'large' set screws.
1) What are these set screws (for)? They are 1/8" hex head screws with a different shaped front on each. 2) The timing rod sheath has plastic filling in the two trigger-side setscrew holes. Is this supposed to be removed and replaced with real setscrews or is this plastic supposed to be enough hold on the timing rod (it does seem to have a fairly firm hold)? Also, the setscrews from my old timing rod are slightly too large for my new one, so where can I get some new setscrews? Thanks for any help.

if by the timing rod sheath, you mean the "coupler" then those plastic things are supposed to be there. they come "pretimed" from the factory.

You can forget the "pretimed" comment. It did not come on the gun. The nylon set screws are typically enough to provide adequate tension to prevent the gun from slipping out of time without you having to actually remove the screws to time the gun.
If I am thinking of the right screws that you are referring to as the larger ones they will have nylon tips. These are to help you get rid of any trigger slop that is there. You just put them in the holes provided in the grip frame around the trigger itself. Don't tighten them too much or your trigger will bind. Once you get everything adjusted you will come to love it. I know you said it wasn't the color you wanted, but you may have noticed my Sniper 2 has a red to black fade grip frame on a stock dust black body. It's not about the looks, but the looks on your opponent's face when he is taking the long walk back from Indian Hills.

Thanks for the feedback and yes, I was referring to the coupler when I said sheath.
However, the larger screws, have stainless heads and I don't see anywhere on the grips they'd fit unless you mean inside the frame somewhere. I've done a crude drawing of these screws... hope it helps. As I sit here drawing these things, it occurred to me they may be sear lugs, but I haven't taken my hammer our to look yet. Also, any idea the easiest way to get my hands on a couple set screws that are the right size for this coupler? Thanks again guys.

Sear Lugs
Indeed. I just popped out my sear lug and these screws are the same size so I'm sure that's the deal. But, any guesses on what difference the different shaped heads would make? Which one would have what affect?

not sure. i did think it was kind of wierd for those nylon screws to just come with the the frame and not on the gun but whatever.

The flat head sear lug gives you a snappy trigger pull and the rounded one gives you a smooth longer sear release. It is all preference, but I really like the quick snappy release of the flat sear lug.
