anti-siphoning

i just recently purchased a pro-stock autococker. it says your suposed to run an anti-siphon tank. i use CO2, but do i need to make an anti-siphon adapter for it? they also say you shouldn't use a remote with anti-siphoned tanks. what should i do?

The purpose of the anti-siphon is to prevent the liquid C02 from spitting through your gun, preventing any damage of o-rings and preventing any freeze-up...especially on the cockers if shooting fast. If you use a remote, I don't think it will be as much of a problem if you have the tank/bottle sitting up vertically in your harness. If the bottle is directly attached to your gun, and you have to shoot C02, an anti-siphon is probably the way to go. Personally, if you an afford, I'd go with HPA.

Ues an expantion chamber on your remote then you don't need a anti syphon tank or modification. They cost about $30 or less.

Exactly...the expantion chamber screws onto the tank via a nipple and female adapter which will come with it and the expantion chamber to the remote if you have a 1/2" or 3/8" in wench and some teflon tape you can do it or have the pro shop hook it up. I bought one that goes both ways because I use my HPA tank with my remote it take weight off the marker. The expantion chamber unscrews from the remote for use with HPA tank.

I just took this pic and uploaded it to my photobucket album just for you....LOL

Just curious, why can't you use an anti-siphon tank with a remote?

Nothing says you can't. But then why spend the cash when you don't have to. Rod's rig is a first class setup. But a little secret. You don't need an expansion chamber on your remote line unless you're having extremely bad problems. The remote line acts as an expansion chamber. If you do go with a remote, do yourself a favor and get a deluxe model with a slide check. You will thank yourself over and over. A deluxe goes for about $39.95. If you can't find one locally, let me know. We sell them in the Pro Shop and I can ship.

OH yeah... Someone said HPA. THAT's the ticket.

Wait a minute... Destrehan. PM me with your name and info. I'm in Mandeville. Are you playing the TAC OPS game next weekend at Paintball Command?

The main reason for not using and anti-siphon tank/tube in a romote set up is it will act like a siphon-tube if the bottle is veritcal in your harness. A anti-siphon tube is conected to your bottles valve internal to the bottle. It is typically a small copper tube bent/positioned to be pointing up when the bottle is screwed into the gun normally. If you take this same bottle and stand it up on end [vertical] it will dip into the liquid co2 just like a siphon tube.

I completely agree with you jes but if you lay down or run with just the remote you have a slight chance of liquid reaching you valve, an exp. chamber stops all liquid.
My remote has the slide check on/off valve just can't see it . But they are a maintance problem unless you keep them regularly oiled they will leak. Only need a drop of good grade marker oil from time to time. Also with normal ware you have to change the "O" rings from time to time. Make sure you get one that has "O" rings same size as bottle "O" rings.

so all in all, the absolute best solution is to go HPA? I've been thinking of buying a HPA tank/bottle, but i was wondering where would I localy be able to get it filled. does anyone know if Academy or any other sporting goods store can fill HPA besides driving to a field or out to you guys at Gunfighter?
