I love my Kaner barrel! I shot the 18" most of the time. It is GREAT at long range.

You'd be surprised, I use a 16" for speedball all the time!

Thumper, what did you mean by the length of the barrel being determined by the psi? How does it make a difference?

Even on a cocker? I was taught that with a cocker you never go more than 14", which is what I currently use. I was fully planning on going with a 12" on both mine and my wifes cockers. Both run at aprox. 225psi

It's up to what you're comfortable with. I've found that 14" is a great all-around length for most conditions. The only exceptions would be maybe clearing buildings and other CQB situations. Try before you buy! Or get a kit so you can just swap the tips and get a longer/shorter tube.

I agree.
On a good hunt or long ball game with good paint at 290psi, I go 16"
When defending a fort or ducking in and out of cover : 12"
When Im lazy 14" is a good all around length for medium, reliable pressures.

But when playing sniper IIs and the probability of barrel breaks drops to 1 in 5000, I lean a bit more on the 16" for quiet longball goodness. (around 270-290 psi)
