A big thanks to freeze and cozie

Would like to publicy thank Deep freeze and cozie for making my cocker sing again, looks like i'll be needing a new forum name, ;p The gun worked absolutely beautifully, and made for a great day of PB, that is until I got shot in a very painful area.. lets just say that was my last game ever with no 'protective gear'

When you guys get a chance, I'd like a little update on the best parts as of late. Looking to change my barrel and bolt out, was wondering what you guys consider to be the best now days? I've currently got an ans quickpull 2k in it, would like something that is perhaps a bit more on a accuracy side.

As far as barrel, i've always been a smart parts fan, and I know the dye boomstick is a great barrel, but what would be the 'best' at the present time?

The DYE ultralite is also an awesome barrel....or a stiffi.

Your bolt is fine. Accuracy will not really be altered by the bolt, not in any amount you can see. If you're not happy with your current bolt then there are TONS to choose from and everyone has their own opinions and favorites.
The Dart by planet eclipse and the Freeflow nylatron are great light weight/high flow bolts, though it will be hard to find the freeflow bolts for long.

As for barrels you will have even more to choose from. There are a lot of quality barrels out there these days, but still some crap floating around too. Anything made by Dye will be fine, but on the expensive end. Smart parts is the same way. I would reccomend a kit if you have the cash. That way you get several lengths and sized barrels at once. Empire makes a nice kit, as well as the Evil Pipe kits. The Kaner barrels from WGP are pretty nice and come in lots of colors too. One of my favorites is the Edge kit by J&J (http://www.jjperformance.com). The kits cost what some individual barrels do, they are available in several colors, and nothing made will shoot more accurately. I've tested mine against every other barrel I've owned and it always shoots great. No matter what you get, 14 or 16 inches is the way to go. Don't bother with any shorter.

you have to size the paint correctly, in order for the kits to work correcly. I like the pipe kit too.

I think we're going to go with my old favorite, and buy two new all americans for our cockers. 12" tho, as opposed to the old 16" all american I have on my old spyder, LOL.

Does anyone happen to know anything about the new cocker 'Trilogy' ? Thats what my wife has, and I noticed that the 3 way and front block are kind of integrated looking.. I was wondering if I can put the shocktech front block from my cocker on it, along with a new reg, or do I have to keep it as is? I also want to put her a wgp hinge, roller sear, rat valve and phat hammer in it. Am also going to put a supa-fly bolt in both of our guns.

what yall think?

if im not mistaken as i very well could be. You can change the reg, and the LPR. and not the 3-way. I believe all of the other parts you mentioned should function just fine with it. I wonder what they did to make the price go down so fast. Currently: '02cocker 324.00 '04 240.00's

my two on the barrels

With a hand full of nice round evil - which happened to match my .689 16" AA and a recent find Stainless 12" ported DYE - and a .687 16" kaner - I did a little test trying to decide what to use on my autococker for this weekends scenario. The paint was dry, and the barrels recently cleaned to perfection. The marker was shooting around 320PSI on CO2

Conclusion : The Kaner can hold the pattern at distance noticably better. The DYE seems a little better than the long smart parts. For < 100 ft, I doubt it matters much. But once you move into the long ball ranges, the kaner kit puts the older stuff to shame with good paint and expecially the junk paint.

Im leaving the AA and DYE at home.

If I were buying now with $200 to spend, Ill be torn between a CCM Stiffi and a Kaner kit. AndI would look around for friends kits to try. If I were hard up for cash - the empire kits produce great results at very reasonable prices and should be considered.

Freaks dont produce the accuracy I expect for long ball play - but there are a few million players out there to argue this point.

ps: the length should be determinted ny the PSI you are running..

100 - 200 PSI = 16"
350-450 = 14"
450+ = 12"

based on my experience.
between 290psi and 320psi I cant tell a difference between 14" and 16".
