Karnivor eating paint.
My wife surprised me with WGP karnivor autococker for christmas(actually gave it to me 2-3 weeks prior). Had been using Tippman for year or so with no problems but she knew i wanted something better. Out of box the marker shot like a dream with 0 chops. Shot about a case of paint and loved it. Practiced walking trigger on E-blade training setting quite a bit. Didn't use for couple of weeks and then played again with the thing eating paint. Cleaned eye, lubed bolt, checked E-blade settings(factory fast), battery indicator appears ok, got fresh paint, adjusted lpr, verified velocity and the thing still chops like crazy. I don't know enough about cockers to adjust timing. Anyone know of an airsmith familar with cockers in the charleston area. I plan to start playing at Paintball charleston but don't want to be used for target practice while cleaning paint from by barrel. |

1. get a new battery and don't store it in the gun.
2. what loader are you using? 3. what readings does your eye show? 4. does your bolt TOTALLY clear the feed tube when it goes back? (this cold be timing or pressure related) This is the quick list of things that can cause chopping. The eye should be fine on the factory settings but more than once I've seen eyes go bad. With a fast loader it's not as big a problem, but with a revy or less you may get a lot of chops.

Thanks guys, I plan on changing batteries since that is the quickest and cheapest place to start. i now have to wait to get more air before trying again.Paco, I am using a Empire rel b. The bolt does clear the feed tube except for maybe a 1/8 inch which i have been told is correct. There appears to be no blowback that i can detect. LPR has been adjusted to operate on minimum pressure. Detent appears to be ok. Paint is marblelizer. Eye is working correctly when tested(Readings change appropriately with open and closed bolt). Cozie, I plan on going to PBC this Friday about 2 or 3 pm to fill up N2 tanks. I appreciate any help that you could offer. If battery change corrects problem i plan to give you guys something to shoot at Sat or Sun. |

Yeah, the 1/8th inch is no big deal as long as your LPR pressure stays up at high rof. So, does the gun chop on single or slow shots (like 4 bps or less)? Or does it only do it at high ROF? If it's only when you shoot fast, try turning up your LPR pressure a little more. This reg can drop off just like the main reg if it's not adjusted right but, instead of dropping velocity it drops your cocking pressure.
Blow back is not an issue anymore with loaders like the reloader B. That's one of the reasons I asked. And if it's the physical timing (not digital timing) then it's most likely the seaar lug has slipped a little. If this happens you'll notice the gun burps every so often while you shoot it. This happens when the lug is not low enough to catch the sear (trigger release) every time. This can cause double feeds and blown balls. It's an easy fix with a 1/8 allen. Take the bolt out, put the wrench in the hole on top of the gun behind the feed tube, turn the screw in like 1/4 turn and try the gun again. Repeat if needed. And after saying that, I'll tell you not to try messing with the timing until you've tried everything else first. It's not hard to do, but if this is not the problem it's easy to create more problems by changing your timing. Just keep up with the number of turns in so you can un-screw the same number if this doesn't cure things. If you don't get the chance to have the guys at PBC look it over this will give you something to work from.

Thanks Paco.....After all else i adjusted sear lug 1/4 inch and slightly increased cocking pressure. Even with my slow fingers can easily hit 12 bps again with no chops. Wasted a 1/2 case of Evil today just to make sure. |
