Umm. First, why does it leak? Fix the reg or swap it. I'm betting that's your main problem. Not enough air=low velocity. If that doesn't cure things, you can try a heavier main spring, but I'm betting it's the reg.
And why does a Gen-X have a BL reg on it? This is no good.

Swing by Ballbusters and let them take a look at it.
Have you tried to adjust the IVG (the screw in the back of the gun)? Take out the cocking rod, put in an allen (3/16 I think?) and turn it in about half a turn. This should bump your velocity up.

How about a little more info. Where is it leaking? At what pressure is it leaking? Is it new, or used? And lastly, was it working before you got it?

Yeah, Camo makes a good point. You really want to sweet spot the reg, find the point where there is the greatest amount of air flow before you see a drop in pressure again. However, that's something you can to get to later.

Tell us everything you can about it so we can sit here and ponder. There's a lot to learn when you're new to cockers but the most important thing is to get it working, and leave it working. The marker itself is not really that complicated at all, there's just all these horror stories out there because other people didn't know how to fix theirs, or most likely, leave it alone in the first place. Like Deep said, give the details.
