QEVs on Mech cocker

Ok - I've got a cherry 98 evolution, slider, 44 mag ram, hollowpoint 3way, palmer rock lpr, ans volumizer, palmer stab -- and she is solid on Co2

I can get 7bps - but extremely rarely have a need to go there. oh - and Im a big CO2 fan (for lots of reasons)

question : anyone out there have any worthy results adding QEVs to a mech slider? bad results? pro's con's ?

QEV's are a waste on a mech and will only hurt the speed, QEV's only needed when you pushing 18+ bps on the marker. Even belsales say not to use QEV's on a mech cocker

I tried it when QEV's were just starting to become well known. It did cut down on the force required for the gun to cock, but it didn't provide a noticable change in the speed of the gun. From what I saw it reduced the efficiency a small amount due to the venting of the waste gas, and didn't improve things until you added electronics and started pushing the limits of the pneumatics. I don't have any solid numbers to back up my statements, but rather they are my opinions from what I saw on my rig.

used em on a double hinge. Made it a little snappier (might have been me hoping to see change) . Not faster. Not a noticeable result really.

pretty pointless on a mech unless you've got fast enough fingers to get up to 15+ bps

Pointless for speed but will decrease the pressure required on your pneumatics. I'd personally be really shocked if they hurt the marker in any way. For $20 I don't think you'd go wrong.

copy that -- one thing I learned is less is frequently better.
less taxes, less moving parts, less things to go wrong.

as for qevs - I was just humoring the idea. If Deep said do it, Ide jump - he is king ya know.

I think you have me beat with current knowledge on the Cockers Thump. I think I actually have some QEV's laying around somewhere. They lasted about a week on my blue cocker before I got tired of them.
