Slide trigger????

I need help from you old cocker guys, Deep, Thumper or anybody. I am looking a purchasing a pre-98 ANS slide trigger frame. It has a slotted trigger slide. I heard this make the trigger pull longer. I am using it for strickly pump, so it shouldn't matter. Also if that is correct can you put an unslotted slide trigger in it later, is it compatable with slide triggers that you can buy now. Thanks for the help.

I have a couple of ANS Slide frames but they are the thicker slide plates not the narrower pre-98 WGP. I've never seen an ANS trigger frame that used a thin trigger plate. What are you needing when you are done? I have several trigger frames I can setup for pretty much any pull length and pull tension you need. Are you wanting 45 or old style frame?

The first attachment is 45 frames the green = ANS, red = Shocktech , and black = Bench Mark.

The second attachment are old style WGP frames.

I've just got a 99 body that I want to make a sniper with. I want to try a slide frame just to try something new and mainly am wanting something that does not have a lot of slop and a nice smooooth pull. That Shocktech looks pretty nice. Anything for sell?? Basically just looking for a 45 frame.

You won't need an oval slotted trigger plate if you don't have a 3 way in the picture. You can go either way. The ST 45's are nice, and with a ST triggerplate (or any wide, polished plate) a roller sear, and the right springs you can do some really nice things for your fingers. The wider plate is the way to go.

I might just wait and look for a nice shocktech or dye then. I wasn't sure if the slides were interchangable. Thanks for the help.

Jeff the Shocktech is not avalible for sale but the ANS and the Benchmark are. When are you going to be up to TT again? I can set up either one but would need your body to make final adjustments. This is not hard nor does it take long so I could do it at the field easily if you like. The Benchmark is essentially already set up including a trigger shoe but it is the narrow plate (I have no problems with them myself) the ANS currently has the wrong guts in it but I do have the correct guts and can take care of teh change out.

PM if you are interested in either.

I might take you up on that, I'll let you know. My body doesn't have any internals yet though. Besides I like to tinker. I've found you can't really learn how something works until you really screw it up and have to figure out how to adjust it to make it right again.

Personally I haven't seen a trigger frame that can touch the ANS Quickfire. That includes hinge triggers. The ANS's are just nasty they are so good.

Jami I am in full agreement The ANS Quickfire is what I like the most and is what I use on my two Snipers. The Dye single swing trigger Cozie has on his sniper is really nice too and is very adjustable.

Jeff you should be able to set up the trigger you have and be completely satisfied. I'll see what pieces parts I have laying around for the guts for you ANS frame. Whether the trigger plate is slotted or not really does not matter when setting up a trigger for a sniper. You can set either up with as long or as short of a pull as you feel comfortable. Me I like my trigger pulls a little longer and stiffer the most guys but that is because I stalk with my finger on the trigger and gun cocked for that first snap shot. Other guys like short soft triggers but your frame can be set up basically any way you want. If you have any questions or need some help do not hesitate to howler. Like you I love to tinker with them myself and it is the best way to LEARN the gun. Good Luck

Sorry it has taken a sec to answer - the slot creates a longer pull on a cocker - but doesnt have diddly to do with a sniper II's trigger pull - which is determined by the sear lug and play in the trigger.

Grendel can hook you up.

The ans and shocktecs are great and all, but i swear by my oldschool original potmetal swing triggers. I'de snag one of grendles, if he has the trigger guts for it.
