WWA Sniper III -- volume issues

So those more patient than I can maybe get a Sniper III to work in the 400psi range - but after putting my hands on a pair of them now, getting the velocity up to 270-280 ish seems a dream.

My first I had to up the pressure to 500ish and drill out a CCM guide rod to add volume.

Now on to my learning experience this AM: My friend gets stumped dropped his 96ish Evolution mini-cocker w/ WWA pump kit off for me to look at - he cant get the velocity above 230.

I know its volume.

as I get it, the pressure is 600 ish, new maddman blue in the rear, and full size maddman blue in the front.

1) I drop the pressure to 400ish (figue over-pressured)
nio goot -- too low

2) swap back blue w/ red : no good- too low. even fully cranked didn't open valve w/ hammer forward @ rest. (too much front spring)

3) pulled valve - replaced long blue w/ short green : no good too low, and easy to open valve w/ hammer forward @ rest.

4) drilled guide rod w/ 11/64 and went too far -- screwed that one up.

5) Looked in gear box - found old shocktech volumizer - and low and behold it is a perfect replacement for the WWA Sniper III primary guide rod. 270 fps - plenty of volume in the volumizer.
