ST dm4 has been out for a while. They had a working one at Orlando open......it's nothing new. Dm5's would kill the dm4's sales and they're doing quite well. Dye will be like SP and release a "custom" milled gun every 3 months. Gay.

It's looking like they are just going to stop making the DM4 when the DM5 comes out. I found this post on paintball-guns.com form a member who wrote Dye about the issue. Here's the response he got which does appear to be valid:

Hello Joe,

I understand your concern, however the DM4 will go straight into the DM5,
there will be no discounted price marked on the DM4's, we will not begin
selling the DM5's until all the DM4's are gone. The DM5's will however be
released at World Cup this year in Orlando, for more information about World
Cup, please visit www.pspevents.com. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

I don't think its a good move on their part. I would have held off a year or so. Thats just me though.

I agree. There's still a lot of hype over the dm4, and DYE can still milk that dry of all profits then release the dm5 and use the time in between to design another dye matrix and keep doing that.

lol, they aren't playing the charts like most people do, but they are making more money than they know what to do with so who can blame them.

Well, when the dm4 hype dies, so will their dm5. It's basically the same thing. They're just riding the dm4 hype and adding some more to get the dm5 out there. That way they don't have to redesign anything and re-hype anything. They're just changing the milling a bit, and adding an lcd screen, (my guess).
