Rumor has it that Dye Precision will not be releasing the DM7. They will end production at the DM6. Most paintballers agree that the gun can’t get much smaller as it is. However, since this is still indeed a rumor a few paintballers disagree with the rumor due to the fact that Dye would still produce large amounts of sales even if the gun does not have any incredibly noticeable upgrades. People pay for looks in my opinion, so I would not be surprised if the Dye Matrix generation never was abandoned. Of course, it does make sense if their line did cease. There are also rumors that Dye may start picking up the “Etek idea”. Dye is supposedly releasing a low end paintball marker this year at the World Cup.

that would be good. i hate how they make a "better,faster,lighter" gun every year. it would be great stopin at dm6 and just making upgrades for it that would be somewat equal to a "DM7"

they have such a yearly folllowing that it is amazing that they can pass up all the money people are willing to spend every year. But on the other hand, they really cant improve it that much every single year.

you really cant make a marker much smaller than the dm6. that thing is tiny.
im waiting to see how angel makes a marker smaller than the a1.

Dye should make small cosmetic changes & change to DM7 & DM8 & so on. Make'em as long as you can sale'em. Its all about $$ to all companys.

i read somewhere theres like 6-8 ounces that can be physically possible to shave off of the dm6. I think this rumor is bs, I'm sure they will have some kind of 07 gun out, that is similar to the 06 with minor changes.
as for the e-tek comparison, they already have their "etek"
its called proto.

They should make a mid end gun, somewhat like an ion wrath and promaster...def would get alot of sales
