I spoke with Ben today and as of now there are going to be a total of 5 tanks in attendance.

would it be possible to set up a tank battle friday evening or sometime like that. i think that would be a lot of fun to watch, and a good time to explain some of the finer points of playing with tanks. I know ive played quite a few scenario games, but never one with tanks in attendance. so as to the rules on them im pretty sketch

Highly doubtfull for Friday night but there's plenty of time to get aquainted Saturday morning. For Kursk, Ben had tank battles (tank against tank) out in an open area and no one was aloud near. You had to watch from a distance for safety reasons.
Now when the tanks are on the field fighting players, I'm pretty sure there is a 20ft rule which means your not supposed to get within 20ft of the tank. If you grenade a tank it is disabled for 5 minutes but it can still shoot it just cannot advance. If you blow it up with a Rocket or Satchel then the tank will flip it's flag up to indicate it's out and go off the field for reinsertion. Brain/Wizard.. I'm sure I'm missing a bunch but I think those are the basics. Step in anytime guys..

you get the idea.Seriously because tanks are big enough to hurt someone a tank drivers primary responsibility is the safety of everyone playing around them. Even if it means getting blown up to keep from encroaching on the safe zone. The drivers have to work closely with the Refs to keep from way overshooting some Rambo or crushing some satchel guy who wants to crawl up to the tank. Now if a tank is dead and not leaving the field it can be a bunker. Few refs are going to intervene in a furball to get it out. Like buildings an engineer can repair it on the field so sometimes sitting and waiting for an engineer is better than driving off and re-inserting. Tanks more than any other prop on the field require teamwork in attacking with and defending against. A good tank with ground support is almost unstoppable until it meets another tank or a demo guy. If all the roads at PBC are good and playable come game time it's gonna be wild and wooly with brush monkeys running for their lives all weekend long.
