Old Vents...
Guys unless I've lost my mind I understood you couldn't play with an old set of Vents...since they are not currently manufactured they are not certifited by ASTM and therefore uninsurable??? The lens is not the only safety issue. I remember these goggles and understand your love for them(that is why Gino bought them and buried them!) Let me know if you have heard differently because I hate making my players wear something else...

Susie you are correct and not correct at the same time. Technically there is no law or regulation against using the old Vents. Some insurance companies require that goggles meet ASTM standards and are ASTM registered. The ASTM is not a government agency it is similar to UL (Underwriters Lab). The last time I did this research SCOTT goggles were not ASTM registered but met the requirements. I'll look up the info again and continues this in another post since I'm cooking dinner right now.

Digging through his gear box saturday was like hopping in a time warp back to 1995. You aught to see the ICS gun case, orig Tim Schloss Tiger jersey, and nifty Magic Box rig on his mag.

I just have the one pair, but I do have two lenses that are still in the packaging and two that are in excellent shape. One even has a cocker kiss on the right lense. I just like the old ones. I don't like the helmet style goggles of today, but I understand that with the electronic markers, you need the extra protection side armour gives. I bought a set of E-Vents incase the oldie is not allowed. I was certified NAPRA #567, so I believe in 150% safety.......................Don't let Thumper pull too hard, he now has the Tim Schloss Tiger !!!!!!!!!!!
