Package Googles

Are the googles you get in the Tippman packages safe to use. I seen other forums that say they are junk?

What is important in getting googles.

It's goggles not googles

Welcome to PBjunkie by the way

The goggles you get in those packages are perfectly safe but they are not very comfortable and they have a tendency to fog up. You are better spending good money on a good set of goggles. Like:

JT Flex 8
Vents
Profilers

Just search them out on ebay to see some costs to get an idea. I would recommend you go to you local field and see what other players are wearing and see what or what not they like about them. Come back and ask some more questions and I'm sure some of the members here have their own opinions to share with you

My son uses the Scott thermals and swears by them. I use V-Force for the clearance of my glasses and added a computer fan mod for fogging. It all depends on what is comfortable for you and gives you the protection you need.

Tried the fan? It does okay in my proto, a little noisy, but on and off is easy and it does help. The Dye fans are supposed to be quieter, anyone have one?

Not the Dye fan but I have used the JT Crosswind and it can be a little noisey, but I only turn it on when I am fogging and need a little help.

For goggles I use either E-vents or a flex 8. Both have dual pane thermal lenses and I have never had a problem with either fogging or condensating.

Grendel is right though the one thing that you should never skimp on is your Mask. If you spend more time trying to keep your mask from fogging than actually playing you are not going to have a good time. Most of the better google systems are considerably higher in price but are well worth it. Flex8's new run around $65, Vents/E-vents run from $65 - $100 depending on the model. Profilers-I have never had a lot of luck with them not in scenario ball anyway due to condensation/fogging.

Hope this helps...

A fan will most likely be my next investment.. Guess I can live with the noise as long as it helps clear things up...
