Vents Goggles?

For those of you who have been in paintball for...well...more than 8 years or so you may remember the Vents series of goggles.

I "stumbled" upon http://www.ventsgoggles.com just a moment ago.
Now, I know we haven't dealt in rumors in quite a while but this one has been deemed worthy of a post (read: finally something interesting again). Apparently the new goggle system will be an ultra modern (yet tasteful) design with quick change lenses.

Not much on the site currently but let us hope that the Vents can be a fierce competitor to V-Force and bring competition back into the goggle market.

I sent an email to the address shown on the website requesting more information and it bounced back indicating their mail server was down, which could be an indication of the site being created.

I'm not convinced it's real....

Oh please let it be true and the product be as good as the original. I love my Vents and have some new old stock lenses but that will last only so long.

eVents

Ok, so Im a Vents fan - my gear cabinet has like 6 pairs of oldschool Predator Vents, and up until last weekend the only goggle I would ever wear - and Im talking steady play since 1994. I have always been a fan of the light weight, no-fog, wide vision the old vents provided, but getting lenses for the old boys is more than a bit difficult. (Im sorry Scott bought out and shut down the old Vents company and production line. More than a few ballers were pretty upset about this when it happened.)

So this past weekend I borrowed my son's eVents - the new style that NPS/Empire puts out that has the thermal lenses and rubber frame, and I have to say I'm converted. A very well thought out design. The lenses are STURDY, the strap is STURDY, the face protection is soft and protective, the field of view in my mind is as good as the old ones. The air flow seemed a bit more restrictive, but I think I'll adjust. What really sold me was when I went to clean these this morning. Two twists on the strap mounts and the straps come off, the google clips pop out and the lense is loose. 20 seconds at the most, and with little effort. Reassembly takes about a minute to keep the L's and R's staight. Very, very easy.

For me, taking the oldschool Vents down to this level was always a "once a year" thing for a deep clean due to the danger of breaking the lense and the fragile lense/clip holes.

The new style of eVents do weight a bit more than the older style, but in my opinion the design seems so well thought out that the weight is well justified. (I didnt notice the weight difference while playing or reffing, but it is noticable when it is not being worn.)

If I could change one thing it would be in larger vent holes for better air flow, but other than that, I would give the new vents a perfect 10.

Empire/NPS: nice job fellas.

ps: Did I mention they fit over my glasses better than the old style?

Word, to add to this, I own a pair of E-vents, and love them, will probably not be buying a new mask for a while.

IMO the only downside is the fact that when you scream you about blow your eardrums out because the sound ricochets off of the inside of the mask and like...right into your ears.
