awesome staple mod for halos SUPER FAST
ok this may have been on here before but if it hasnt, here it is, to make a standard halo motor a HECK of alot faster, its rly simple. take your board out, and go find a staple off the floor of your work desk. look ok your board and find the VR1 and C8 tiny holes.copy and paste the below link into an internet page to see a picture showing you where the holes are. http://img162.exs.cx/img162/24/haloboard3bv.gif
take the staple and insert each end into the holes, not allowing them to touch the big silver things stickin up, u may need to bend the staple to prevent this from happening. simply reassemble ur halo keeping the staple in and turn it on and watch her go!!! I wouldn't recomend this mod. There is a reason why the VR1 (Voltage Regulator) test point does not already have this connection to C8 (should be a capacitor) test point. The capacitor is probably bypassing the safe guard of your volatge regualtor. This means more power is going to your motor. Most motors should only have so much voltage going to them. I don't have a schematic to look at whats all on the board. SO YOU WILL PROBABLY BURN UP THE MOTOR!

Maybe it won't, but maybe it will. How much faster are you really talking? You would have to buy parts if the motor or board goes bad. Plus, the pain in the ass of your hopper going down in the middle of a game. In addition you are taking a staple to test points. Idealistically you would want to solder the points together.

Not recommended. Any mods will void the warranty. Buy a V35 board, it feeds 35 bps. The above as stated by barryb is only 28.5 bps.

You might be able to do just that, but if there's any shorting out or damage caused by the mod, it won't be covered.

The points were they tell you to stick the staples are called "Test Points" Thats were you take measurements with analag and digital multimeters to troubleshot component level circuitry.
Yes the board will become usless if you fry it.
