The Army does have air traffic controllers. The only problem is the vast majority of their traffic is helicopters which does not allow them to develop their skills to the level of the Air Force or Navy controllers. I spent 9 1/2 years in the Navy with the last 5 being in air traffic control. I am now an air traffic manager for the US Antarctic Program. I have worked with many ex Navy, Marine, Air Force, and Army controllers. Their abilities were more due to their individual skills. I will say that typically the Air Force and Navy controllers were better prepared for "real ATC." BTW, the field isn't for everyone. You have to be able to make quick educated decisions, study constantly, and speak clear and concise.
