I think it will work for the ski goggles because they have a tighter seal and less airflow than paintball goggles. I'm not sure about this trick on paintball goggles. Somebody will try it im sure.

breathing eyeballs, bandages and the men who use them
people don't really spit in goggles, right? I'm trying to learn more here. wouldn't that make the situation worse?
personally, I find that the buck-toothed strategy a.k.a "beaver face for fog-prevention" (bfffp) works well. That would be the opposite of llama face. I fog up a lot. Mo says it's proof that I'm full of hot air... I say it's cuz my face is crooked or... well I dunno, maybe I need a better goggle. I find the bfffp to be a less costly solution for we cheap butts (mo and I). Although I must say, I went through nearly a whole tube of chapstick to prevent bottom lip damage. This all sounds kinda gross as I type it out. I thank God that noone can see what I look like under my goggles during playtime. p.s. This explains why I like signals rather than speaking while on the field. I pray I never bite my lip off during a vine trip.

There are several reasons you could be fogging up. First, what kind of mask do you use? A mask with good vetnilation (sp) will help immensly. I like my old modified JT spectra/flex 7's. For foggy nights I am liking my old Vents. The old Bad Ass masks were good for not fogging as well. Another thing that can cause it is wearing a hat that keeps heat in.
BTW, I can tell you from diving experience that rubbing spit inside of your mask definately helps prevent fogging.

Spitting in your goggles or face mask if your a diver works great but for paintball masks if there is a thermal coating like in vforce it will only ruin the thermal coat.
I don't think the bandaid trick will work. I have a solution that I use on my eye glasses that prevents them from fogging from temp changes like going out from a below zero cooler to normal temps. |

Another great solution is in the vehicle department at Walmart. There's an antifog gel that you can put on your windshield. follow the same directions but put it on the inside of your mask and voila...foggings gone.

we used to adapt 2 = 1 1/2 or 1 5/8 inch fans to the top of the goggles where the vented area is.. basically wired it up with a small toggle switch and a 9v battery holder inside the mask.. being in Miami and with so much humidity this took care of the problem.. I mean if you can be creative enough to do a real clean job, it should work flawlessly. good luck

I had a problem this weekend.
The temprature dropped so fast i was getting condensation on the inside of my mask, it was like it was fog, just annoying. It was more like you left a glass of ice water outside.. condensation. Last edited by socoj2; 11-19-2007 at 10:06 AM. |
