Winston was exceptional of course. LOL-- Very entertaining list.

Even the idea of some of the other people, particularly Oscar Wilde, throwing insults anyone's way is just funny/ridiculous in itself. An eloquent insult uttered by a wacko doesn't mean much. It's akin to B. Spears coming up with an eloquent zinger saying that Paris Hilton is a party girl. It doesn't mean much in those cases.

Reading the post reminded me of a female (notice I didn't say lady) I once knew--This is a true story--you can tell by the content how long ago it was. So this chicks a gold digger. She'd go out to bars / clubs and flirt with the guys she thought had money, hoping to marry a thick wallet thru her efforts. So this guy catches on and she's all over him, flirting like crazy. He tells her, "You remind me of the lady in the movie Body Heat". She hadn't seen the movie, so she ignorantly asks the guy, "Why? Was she pretty?"

Everybody within ear shot was just dying.
