Your latest encounter with open group

Ok, open group is like college freshmen. Young, naive, and always a funny story so I'll start.

My 19 year old and two of his friends decide to shoot the last two and half extra cases of leftover game paint at a bring your own field not too far away. Course we have these boss new BlackHeart jerseys and they each don one to look respectable. Do-rags, facial hair, lean and leering they look the part. Now the bring your own field has to trade away something and it's organization, so if you're open group you just have to find a free ref and get some people to play with you.

All geared up they spy an 11-12 yr old and his birthday party of about 10 getting ready to field as the Mom is putting up cake, so they wander over and ask if they can play in their group. Eyeballing the Jerseys and the markers older than themselves the birthday boy blurts out" No! We want to have fun!" as the rest of the wide eyed group all shake their heads in unison and close ranks.

As the dejected trio retreat they hear a whispering voice," and they've got names on 'em. Oh man.."

Perception is reality, unfortunately. We always carry my neighbors' 10 year old and his nephew(11 year old). Armed with pumps and a couple kids generally helps with the letter of approval. LOL

Yeah, we all know how many kids have looked at the old SCRK guys with their antique gear and beer guts and just knew they weren't any good. At least the Blackhearts have new gear to go with their beer guts.
