Newer? Like a imagine 2005 model? Reason I ask is the my is the 2005 and it came with a cup seal. The one I'm trying to fix is I think around 01 model imagine and was bought used. But the cup seal in it looked the same as the spare that came with mine. To see if that seal was leaking I was just going to swap his cup seal for my spare.
I mean the one in his gun could have already been changed for all I know he said he bought it used to begin with and then has used it for about 2years about twice a month.
Do you think the swapping my spare for his be a bad idea?

Visually I didnt find any damage to his cup seal but it did have some small wear from pushing against valve. The only other thing that kinda has me wondering that I plain on fixing is I noticed his valve pin guide ( the star looking medal peice behind cup seal ) has a slightly bent finger. After thinking about it I figure it might be allowing the cup seal to shift slightly sideways allowing a small leak. But this is all in theory.

I have a spyder that leaks if I screw the bottle all the way in but if I screw it down and leave a little left before it is all the way down it works fine.Go figure

By the way spyderman you were right about the older imagine. Cup seal fixed leak. Thanks for that. We ended up changing every replacable seal anyways after fixing the leak because it was becoming a everygame day thing were that gun was leaking. It fires great now.

Thanks again.

Helpfull tips from ptballer2ptballer

One other thing that helps with internal air leaks is if you oil up your o-rings on the valve itself what that does it creates a tighter seal between the valve and orings.

Here is one more hint this has saved me a great deal of money, if you take the air valve and cup seal, some toothe paste and the correct size drill bit. First you put some toothe paste between the cupseal and valve body
then press the seal and valve tightly together and start drilling add more toothepaste as needed to the drill bit, do this for a couple of minutes. what happens is that the toothepaste acts as a fine sandpaper it fills in the cracks and scrapes so that no leaks occur and it tightens the seal. This should also keep you from buying a new valve,Seal or whatever. But if not just buy a Cup seal,A whole great deal easier.

Ninja would like recommendations.....

Okay, remember no flaming,
My son wants to move from his Tippy 98C to an electro, maybe either a SP Ion or a Spyder Electra (ACS?). We all have adapeters for Spyder threaded barrels, so Spyder makes the most sense without buying more barrel sets. We have an 05 Imagine-S that has been far less maintainnce than our 98C or A-5, so we're leaning toward Kingmann. Now what is out there (preferably with the rocking trigger 2.0 or better frame) that is light and maybe with eyes?
If the Electra doesn't have eyes what Spyders have both eyes and rocking trigger?? Any recommendations would help. Also any pro/con comparisons to Ions. most of what I've read tends to indicate that Ions "may" preform better but at the cost of additional hundreds of dollars of upgrades. Wanting to keep it under the $250 mark.

Thanks everybody!!!!!!!

electra has a model with both eyes and a rocking trigger, the new mr3 has eyes but doesn't have a rocking trigger.I know the trigger will fit on just about any spyder,I just don't know for sure about the milsim models. But if you want the eyes, trigger, and lighter go with the electra

Thumbs up thanks....more please

Yes, I know I could just put a rocking trigger frame on an imagine, but since the ION has eyes, I was trying to compare apples to apples. So an Electra w/ eyes vs. and ION w/ eyes....i'm guessing about $100 cheaper and same ROF?
Spyderman, got any info on the VS2/3? They're a little pricier, but seem to be glorified Electras? what's the advantage? (FYI, not going with the MR# due to wiehgt and possible barrel interferences.)

Sell me on going electra or VS and NOT SP ION .....!!
