July 14, 2007

BLACKHAWK DOWN - The Rematch

Several changes, like those suggested in previous posts, will be incorporated, including an "armored" vehicle to escort the Americans on their final push thru town. 12 A-5's set up to fire as quads, capable pumping out 4000-5000 total rounds a minute when all guns are firing. The vehicle will carry about 14,000 -16,000 rounds and be manned by 4 players (3 gunners and 1 A gunner) and a ref driver. If the militia can hit the kill switch, (with paintballs or maybe a rocket) the vehicle will stop, but the guns won't. Americans will assign the gunners.

2nd Anniversary Event

Good old fashion summer picnic atmosphere for this one. I read somewhere, someone was having a pig roast at a paintball field...I think we gotta do that too!!

15 hours of daylight and we'll keep setting up any games you want until it's too dark to see. Email us what games you want, and like New Years Eve, the top 5-6 requested will run.

...and expect reduced field fee, lots of prizes, etc. for this Player Appreciation Event.

TET Offensive - Event

Late August should be HOT and MUGGY (believe me nothing is as hot as Vietnam-Republic Of, but it's the best we can do) We want to simulate the conditions in Southeast Asia as accurately as possible for this battle. WE WILL BE CONSTRUCTING A "PUFF the MAGIC DRAGON" FOR THIS ONE. Enough guns grouped together and firing in tandem to shoot about 3000 rounds per minute!

NVA regulars and the Viet Cong attacked in force EVERY major city, military installation and province in Vietnam. ARVN and American troops were at first overwhelmed, losing many key locations. They eventually switched over to the offensive and recaptured lost areas, at tremendous cost.

Of course, the Reichstag will represent the U.S. Embassy in Siagon where one key battle was fought. We will use the area between the two Crab Creeks as the Mekong Delta (if you've ever been back that far on the field you know this is the perfect area for that battle) Hue, Khe Sahn, Danang and other battles will all be part of this chaotic engagement.


September 15-16, 2007

Warsaw and Barbarossa - Event

A two-day event with two classic WWII engagements. On Saturday,Sept 15,Germany and Russia will attack Poland on two fronts. Sunday, Sept 16, will see the Germans launch Operation Barbarossa in a desperate attempt to defeat Russia before winter halts their advance.

September 1, 1939 Germany attacks Poland from the east and a few days later Russia launches it's offensive into Poland from the west. The struggle ended when Warsaw fell after about a month of fighting, resulting in the Russian and German armies facing each other during an uneasy truce.

June 22, 1941. Germany launches a suprise attack on Russia with over 200 divisions. Will the Germans capture Moscow and win the war this time...or will the Russians again turn the tide and fight their way west to capture Berlin. (The starting points for this battle will be determined by the territory captured during the battle for Warsaw on Saturday) Teams will have Saturday evening to map out their strategies for Sunday, and the Polish army will join either the Germans or Russians.

Port Moresby - Kokoda Track - Event

In late 1942 the Japanese made a desperate attempt to capture Port Morseby on the island of New Guinea. Ill-equipped and outnumbered Australians knew that the fall of the Port meant a full scale invasion of Australia would soon follow.

One of the pivotal battles for control of the island took place on the Kokoda Track. The Japanese were defeated, in part, because the American Navy prevented the Japanese efforts to resupply their troops by sea. This was the Battle of the Coral Sea. In this scenario the Japanese have avoided the American Navy and are attempting to land their troops on the eastern end of the island against MacArthurs recently deployed forces.

The Australians will be fighting the Japanese on the Kokoda, and the Americans will be resisting Japanese reinforcements attempting to land from the Coral Sea. Two battles raging to protect Port Moresby from capture, and if either army collapses, the Japanese will be able to attack the Allies from the rear.

Halloween Party

Wear Halloween stuff (there were some great ones last year!!) and it's a dirt cheap field fee.

Lots of prizes again this year, and no "Pazzuto Shuffle" this year during the dueling contest!!

ANZIO - Event

Americans and British launch an attack into the "soft underbelly" of Europe.At first that is exactly what it seemed like as the unopposed landing caught the Germans completely by surprise. American recon units actually drove jeeps into Rome without seeing a German.

I DID IT AGAIN....WHAT ARE THE ODDS. THE DATE OF THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CHANGED FROM SATURDAY NOVEMBER 17 TO SUNDAY NOVEMBER 18 BECAUSE OF THE OHIO STATE vs MICHIGAN GAME. Enough with the death threats already!!!

This was reported to the British commander in charge of the operation who decided to dig in instead of advancing. The delay allowed the Germans to get their act together and create havoc on the beach. (WHERE WAS PATTON WHEN WE NEEDED HIM)In this engagement, the Germans will NOT have any idea where the Americans will be landing. They will have to react to the oppose the landing. The Americans will NOT know where the Germans are either.

Toys for Tots

It's still on the drawing board, but we may have a Toys for Tots day at Battlefront December 15, 2007.

Josh Goodhart is "on point" for this one right now. Hope to help a lot of kids at Christmas with this one.

It's all for a good cause and details will be up as soon as they become available.

3rd Annual New Years Eve - Event

Don't know HOW we will be able to top last years chaos...but we'll think of something.
Based on the first two years, this New Years Eve event is really turning into something to look forward to. Make sure you plan on attending this one!

I checked out Battlefronts' site a few months back, and it looks sweet. I have never seen an environment like that for paintball. Eville Empire will probably have to make a stop there in 08'. Hope to see you there.
