Anyone seen Jarhead?

Just wanting to get a view from someone that either non-military or not a well...Jarhead. I got there view and it fits the movie from what I have seen of it.

I'm not and I loved it. Not a whole lot of action but I thought it was very good.

I AGREE BUT I DIDN'T LIKE IT EITHER....ONLY ONE GUY DIED AND THAT WAS IN BOOTCAMP!! LAME! BUT I DID LIKE WHEN THEY LIT THE OIL RIGS ON FIRE AND IT STARTED RAINING OIL LOL!

From what I've heard, the book was written by a whiny marine. Having been in the service, I can relate to the whole "hurry up and wait" deal the main part of the movie focused on. But the begining boot camp scene was a lame attempt to top Full Metal Jacket, and the ending parts of the movie just seemed lame.

I liked it to an extent,I went to parris island and while being yelled at,cursed at,them being in my face all the time,and me spending numerous hours on the quarter deck and pit,I was never hit.It really isn't as bad as he made it out to be.I agree with warped about the hurry up and wait,but the rest of the movie was OK

I have not gotten time to go and see it yet. But from what all my buddies in the corp say is its mainly a movie that shows what a marine does in his down time. They told me its about as damn real of a marine movie as they have ever seen.

And to my man that said only 1 person was killed...... This movie is based on the "91" gulf war. were only I think it was what??? around 150 some troops were killed? But to say the least it was a 5 day war. What you think was going to happen???

Anyway cant wait to se eit hope I like it?? who knows I have seen worse stuff "Open Water"
