United 93
I went to see United 93 this past sunday and here is what I have to say about it:
Going into the theater I was pretty afraid of what I might see. To many it seems that this movie is comming out to early and that the wounds of 911 are still open. I spoke with people who had seen the movie and they were emotional just talking about it. The movie starts with a man praying in arabic and opens the scene with the hijackers preparing to leave there hotel for the airport. From there you continue to see events unfold that you yourself was there to see. In the movie, you are not given many names and is it almost in first person with what's going on. You see a good bit with what the hijackers supposively were feeling and what they believed as well as the people of United 93. What I most feared was that this movie would have been made for entertainment I was both relieved and distressed at the end that the director gave honor towards the members of United 93 and what they did. It's an extremely emotional movie that all through out instills the question in your mind, "what would you have done". I heard that the families who's sons, daughters, husbands, and wives were lost actually helped with this movie being made so we know that the creation of this movie was desired from the grieving families for you to see what happened on September 11 2002. This movie is alot like the Passion of Christ in that you didn't know that it was that violent. I would personelly suggest that you go to see it being that the families who lost loved ones wanted the story to be told. I understand that for many of Americans, September 11th seemed like yesterday and it would hurt to much to see something like this - I understand.

i didnt care for flight 93 to much, it was hollywood,
but united 93 was amazing, utter and complete awe, don't know if anyone else took note that several people played themselves in that movie not only did those people do their jobs to the best of their ability but they also were willing to relive that day to it's upmost so others could know their story, That alone should tell you to go see this movie The guy who made the movie would not start production of it until every family of united 93 approved it, they actually interviewed the families for details of what they were wearing that day Regardless everyone should go see this movie, and be prepared to not be willing to do anything else the rest of the day. You most likely will be exhausted. |
