Well, it seems like every band I like has either broken up or out right died. So, can anyone recommend some good bands to check out? The old school stuff I really like is Ramones and Sex Pistols. The newer stuff I was getting into, before they broke up, is stuff like Tsunami Bomb.

Pennywise, Richard Hell and the Voidoids, The Dead Boys, The Stooges, The Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Bad Religion, The Distillers, The Transplants, and New York Dolls are a few of my favorites.

I thought I did that when I said The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, and Tsunami Bomb.
BTW, thanks for the replies folks. I am checking them out as I type. Fair to Midlands wasn't my cup of tea. The music and lyrics were good, but I didn't care for the vocalist.

I do listen to the Dead Kennedies, but once again they are no longer around.

The Transplants are good for newer punk. Travis barker form Blink 182 is the drummer i believe.

the dead kennedys are still around...just not with jello biafra...the new singer isn't all bad really...the misfits i like (danzig and graves era)suicidal tendencies,minor threat,agnostic front,murphys law,sick of it all,the meat men and the cro-mags to name a few...

I wouldnt utter chevelle in the same breath as the ramones and the misfits...

Personally im not big on punk rock...though i like some black flag, some misfits. Im big on the band "Clutch" right now..they are pretty metal though. There is a band out of SC called "isabelles gift" and their stuff is "too metal for punk, and too punk for metal" so its an interesting blend.

for me, I also like Flogging molly and Dropkick Murphy...think irish punk rock...very different...catchy...driving....acquired taste
