its plastic and i personally do not like the way the trigger feels at all. you may want to hold one and see how it feels to you, but again, it felt to me like a cheap POS. others may feel differently. take everything with a grain of salt.

Headshotx:
You need to go to your local pro paintball retailer or the local field and talk to any players who will.
We all can only make informed post about the markers your interested in. Also since you have a computer you can google any paintball marker your interested in and get discriptions, specs, and buyers informed ratings...
The bottom line here is no matter what information you gleen here on PBJunkie you have to make the final decision...
Not to recomend another sight but PBNation has an extensive sight for markers as PBJunkie does...
Here is a link to a google search I just did while I was writing this post...
Proto Matrix Rail Paintball Gun

I have one with UL frame, and I love it. I've used it in a couple practices so far, and it is working great. Fast, light reliable, accurate. I'm loving mine, but like SirRod said, you must make the final decision.

As Sir Rod suggests there are other places to research this. PBNation is ok, but I would recommend MatrixOwner - Matrix Paintball Marker Owners Group

Great posts in this thread. 2007 Proto Matrix RAIL PMR Disassembly / Maintenance Tutorial. - MatrixOwner

The PMR is a good marker for the value it brings to the table. It really was meant to compete with the SP Ion, and can outperform one stock vs. stock. Unfortunately, it does suffer from some quality concerns and the like, but many electros in the lower range do. When all is well, it is a great scenerio marker (except looks, but not on my list of priorities). If you are a tourny "agg" player, then you would need a few upgrades to likely keep up, but most of them swing to the more expensive PM/DM route.

I just fixed one for a bud, never used one personally, but there is much to maintain on this marker. I've seen worse, but do not buy this thinking it is a tippmann and will not need care. You better have a couple of O-ring kits laying around at all times, and if you get a finicky one, usually it is crimped wiring, bad solder jobs, a few solenoid issues and the like.

The use of plastics make this marker very, very light, which is always a plus with paint, tank, guppies, etc....

headshotx, I would recommend you ask this question with much more detail to your intentions, style of play, level of play, technical capability, etc...
