Starting off

Hey Guys whats up?
Things are warming up here in Indiana and cant wait to do woodsball.
I hope that my sim-5 works ok,Ive herd alot of good and bad things about this marker ,I have to get all my accrys yet but plan on doing that next payday.
Im still a little confused as to which tank and hopper to get, I saw the Q-loaders but was told to stay away from those...so ill keep looking..
I was thinking on a 68/3000 aluminum , but those fiber tanks look lighter
and there higher psi...I think....
Ill take any suggestions you guys might have

yoyu should definetly get a fsat hopper and a N2 tank for when you step up to a nicer gun. i would recommend an egg(evlution 2 from ViewLoader) with a z board. they're fast enough and hold more than a halo and are more likely not to doublefeed(not sure what a sim5 is and about its detent system).

as for a tank it depends on what you want to play. front/mid/back. back and mid players can have bigger tanks and shoot more so they'll usually use a 68/45 or maybe an 88/45. front players almost always have 45/45s. i would reccomend anythign from Nitro Duck or Crossfire. i use a 45/45 on my sniper 22 cause i don't shoot that much with it and don't need a bulky tank. if you don't shoot much i'd go with a 45/45 to keep the bulkiness down. Also if your gun is high pressure(spyders and spyder clones areand i THINK a sim5 is one) and you move up to a new gun and it happens to be low pressure, you'll have to get a new tnak. if you think you might do that and don't want to go through the hassle of getting that new tank get an adjustable tank. again Nitro Duck has an adjustable screwin tank that works wonderfully. oh and always go with fiber wrapped, you'll kick yourself later if you don't.

you can usually find this stuff relatively cheap on pbjunkie, pbnation or other online paintball forums.

With a Sim just use a Revy. Tanks I would go with a fiber wrapped 68/4500. Lots of air to work with & liter. For woods or scenarioball you'll be good to go.Thats just my 2 cents.

Tough springs

I recommend chronographing the marker asap to make sure its ready to go on play day. A buddy of mine got one and is having a hard time getting it to shoot less than 350 fps because of the brand new springs. Good luck.

As posted, I will agree with the Revy (or new Empire loaders) for hopper choice. For most uses it is still the best bang for the buck and most people don’t have problems outshooting them.

As for tank… if you want to go HPA by all means do so. But I will argue that it is not a requirement for most people no matter what marker they use (unless it is a new generation Mag). Most people will do fine with CO2 as long as they give it plenty of expansion ability. The tanks tend to be more cost effective and less of a problem getting filled. But then again you can’t go wrong either way and the choice is yours depending on YOUR needs, the ability for you to get it the tank filled regularly, and your budget.

I will also echo the comment about getting your marker chronographed before you actually go to a field and play with it. I always recommend this with any marker. But some (as stated) can have some real issues involving springs and you don’t want to spend your entire morning someplace messing around trying to get the right spring or cutting down one to work. It is best to get that taken care of before you go. Then chronoing will be a breeze at the field and your day will start out right.

Have fun, play safe!
