hey guys what do u think of the mr1 as my first gun dont say get an a5 because they suck and the mr2 is a wannabe electra and in the woods u dont need and electro so what do u think of the mr1 4 me simple cheap and oh yeh cheap

Well, my friend got a Kingman Spyder ACS '05 for his first and appearantly it works well for him. While another got a 98 custom, which has worked great for him since he got it a few years ago. A 98 custom would work great. I hear MR1 jams alot, and the feed neck is easy to break, so idk about it.

a-5's do not suck.. i had one as my first marker...and while everyone i know with a 98 had to replace sears or other parts, mine was rocking and rolling w/out issue. Also tons of upgrades and mods available for it.

A5>any spyder/spyder clone. with the price tag for the spyder, you're paying for the kingman name (however shitty it may be...)

The MR-1 is a decent marker. I have a custom 98 w/rt and happened across the MR1 for $75 (brand new on ebay). Haven't played with my tippmann since. There are a few creature features to the MR-1 tho, if you run out of paint, it sounds like the marker is out or air and will not recock. If the bolt gets too dirty, the marker will lock up or not recock after a shot, but a quick strip and clean it works perfectly. Have not found many customizable parts for it, so if ur looking for customizability definitely the custom 98 ore A-5. I have never owned an A-5 but know that they are an awesome marker. As an entry level marker I would recommend the custom 98 over the MR-1 because it is a very forgiving marker.
