Fat Old and Bald don't necessarily qualify one as old-school.. In my case, first game May 1983.
Still Have my 007, sidecocking Splatmaster and about 4-5 metal tubes of Nelson Oil-based. Oh yeah...and my 1984 Air Pistol Open patch.

In '87 or '88, me and a hand full of high schoolers visited Red Fox Run. We really thought we had something with the crossman 3357's. The field rental was the splatmaster. About 1/2 way through the day, we rented the splatmasters so we could shoot paint that would actually break on people. The 50cal paint from the crossman's were doing more bruising than good. There was a guy with an smg 60 that we grew to loath......LOL

Good times, thanks for the memory.

I played a game over the weekend with my team and some others guys from a local team in my area. One of the players made statment about a marker one of my guys had as a back-up an older 98 custom and said that is a real old school gun. This guy had never played with a non-electro. You know you are real old school when you talk to someone saying old school when they have never used a standard blowback. It is like digital -vs- analog.

I was too busy being broke from kids (1 in 83 & twins in 89)to join a couple friends who played, what was I thinking? I did not get to realize how fun this sport is until the late 90's, so it's old fool for me instead of old school.

We should start an Old School Society and start having events that are regulated to the old school standards. I can't think of how fun it would be to go head to head with single shot pistols 12 gram, 10rd tube only.

Those kinds of events only an old schooler would appreciate.

Perhaps it needs to be mandatory to know how the sport began before you can play. Then have a mandatory "pump play period" before you can legally buy a semi auto. and then you must play so many games with a semi before you can legally buy an electro.

I would love just an old school game. 007 with no pump ,12gram and 10 rnd tube. 1/2 hr to 1 hr games with 15-20 man teams. That would bring back some memories. No auto triggers either. Pumps would be classified as modified play lol. Anyone here remember sure bull paint and when the F-1 illustrator was screams sponsered gun.

mmmmmm... A pocket full 'o 12 grams and a hot-hand...sounds like fun.

Rain.. You mean Bullseye paint? George Statler from New York owned it. Gave us Iodine blue for tournaments.

Still have the stained Tigers that Tim Schloss Gave me in 87, the Line SI Bushmaster, the Bagmaster that Mark sponsored us with in 88 and the original JT Elites that Marty Tripes gave us in 89.

Old-school is knowing who actually founded the Ironmen(and how) and what the original squad names were called...and no. it wasn't Bob Long.

Sure bull had a donkey on the cover of the box with a bulls eye on his ass lol. Could have been bulls eye that put it out. Remember when ZAP came in 40rnd ammo boxes and you could get RP schere/ PMI in disposable 100 rnd tubes?
Funny thing about Marty and the JT lenses. He sent me a few pairs for free when I deployed to Desert storm. I had a 2-1/2 tn truck battery blow up in my face and just happen to have the goggles on when it did. Lots of battery acid everywhere. After my face was douced with water and the goggles were removed, I could have lost my site after looking at the frags and acid splash. When I got back, Marty was working for SCOTT then. He was at the Music City Open. I thanked him for my vision. He kept the lense and gave me a replacement for free. He was glad that his lense did what he said it would. He told me the lense was designed to take a 7 grain shot gun fill at 7 ft and not penetrate thru the lense. I'm not a shot gun guy so I don't know how big that fill is or from what type of shot gun.
Anyone remember .68 Ultra Paint?
